Student fined for sending messages
A Palestinian student has been fined QR1,000 for “disturbing” a woman by sending unsolicited SMS to her on November 18 last year.
The woman, a 31-year old Qatari, told the authorities that she received many SMS from the suspect’s mobile phone on that day.
The plaintiff said: “I called the number to see who the sender was and I discovered that it was a man. He sent an SMS apologising for his conduct and promised that he would not send SMS to my number again.”
The accused, 18, told the interrogators that he intended to send the message to another number but he dialled the plaintiff’s number by mistake. However, the court found that it was a disturbance and fined the accused QR1,000.

I'm Jack's complete lack of surprise
to me occasionally. What I did was to call back the caller and told him (of course he was a male), "I don't know you and if you don't have any business with me then you better stop calling or I will report your number to the police." And somehow it worked. What's worst, they don't speak english well & all I could understand was this: "hello, filipini, me friend".
some jerk really find it funny messing around with a stranger's phone number... on more than one occasion, i have received a Qtel collect call from a local number, of course, i always reject it.. one time, i got the same collect call again and since the number appears on my phone i called it, and why am i not surprised it was a male.. :P
tatess the thread is in English.... why not post back in English?
