As far as I heared, the salary bracket for the bachalors applying for a studio in that compound near wakra is above 10 000 QR. Who is that bachalor who earns more than 10 000 QR who would like to live in a tiny studio in the middle of the dissert in Wakra?
may salary bracket din pala. cguro mas maganda s loob yan i mean s loob ng compound,kc frm d church e labas lang ang kita e. and congra2lations nga pala nica & tnx n rin
for expats, the Barwa set a salary bracket in order for us to be qualified. They evaluated the applicants & randomly selected the winners. We were just lucky & with low salary.
This Barwa housing is for family with children only.
heto b ung barwa n nadidinig ko dati n pra s mga maliliit/medyo mtaas ang sahod pero karamihan ng nakakuha e malalaki ang sahod?to ung near s church db?
you can not apply. Its over. People applied and they selected nominees. Wait until the next projects are done and announcments are published on newspapers for interested applicants.
Barwa Sailya and Barwa Mesimeer is barwa housing program and both projects were supposed to finish together. But Barwa Sailya is not finished yet and people are still waiting for there appartments. Everybody talks about barwa mismeer and barwa village what about Barwa Sailya???
As one of the suppliers (unfortunately still owed money) on the project. It is really great to hear such positive comments. When will the other "village" in West Sailya be completed and provide similar positive experiences I wonder?
Some of you guys are so misinformed. Not all Qataris that are poor are that way because of their own fault. Believe it or not they have problems like everyone else. Some have their fathers die and have the responsibility of paying for their entire family, some have disabilities and are not able to work, some just have bum luck.
yes there are but it's thier own mistake when u r spending more than u can afford just for showing up.
i know a guy whoes salary is around 25000 and he is broke all the time, it's no wonder since he is paying 6000 as a car loan and he is still paying the money of his personal loan which he took to travel to europ for 10 days.
cant beleive...if so there are the govt..am sure is always there for thier support. Water & electricity is free...education is free..n wonder how many more things...
the Barwa Management. Anyway, mine is to give you guys an idea of how's life in this compound. However, to answer some of the queries;
adnan - the application for this place had long been done & I don't know if they're still accepting. Their guidelines for applicants were too strict (for expats). And you must have a family to live in this place. Bachelors were offered in their Wakra location.
heero - as for transport system, fortunately almost all families have car/s. And if you need some taxi/bus, luckily, there's a bus stop outside the gate & the church area. Sometimes there's a standby taxi outside the gate just in case some tenants needs it.
and sharkee is right, there are some few nuisant tenants (especially the teenage boys) who don't have consideration about their neighbors. So, you need to adjust yourself how to handle them somehow.
this looks like a decent place and judging by everyone's comments - looks like ppl are reasonably happy living here.
Im looking for a place to rent, can anyone contact me please and let me know how to get on the waiting list or ideally rent without the waiting list :)
it's a nice place but some families are so careless about what thier childern do.
still waiting for the central satellite which barwa managment promised to install by the end of ramdan.
today some stupid guys were listining to musice loudly on thier cars before they step down and start dancing on the street, i called the security because it was late at night and i hate to see such things where i live but no body come :S

till date i do not see Barwa doing anything at Alkhor....wat happened.
barwa accomodation are nice and clean... enough parking facility... supermarket with all necessities... a grand mosque and parks surrounded by buildings... on the whole its good planning and judgement...

I have no idea what the tattoo means on my daughter's hand but I think it looks wonderful. The good lady from the Heritage Village had done it for her:)
About the pictures (of people) in Barwa, well, I guess I'll have to ask permission from my fellow tenants.
You see, some of them are arabs (w/ thobes & abayas) and with respect to them, I'd rather not spoil their day just for the pic.
fast track steel structures.. such a brilliant technology. its a real shame that the british company that erected these buildings went into liquidation.
the pic features how Barwa Housing looks right now, the structure itself. However, if you want to see likewise how multi-racial we are in the compound..hmm..let me try to upload them next post.
It has been almost a year that most of the tenants moved-in to this unique community called Barwa Housing.
It can't be denied that the first few weeks or even months had been so awful for most of us. We had no supermarket (the nearest we could go was the Woqod petrol station).
There was even a time when the roads were blocked and we have to go around 8 kilometers long & back just to get us home. Most facilities in the compound were malfunctioning (fire alarms goes off anytime of the day or as it like, drainage clogged & water overflowing). However, after the promised made by the Barwa administrator, we were able to have a mini grocery, almost all utilities works better now, there's a nursery school for small kids living in the compound and somehow the securities are trying their best to keep us safe day & night. One concern though from most of us there is hoping that the improvements will be as spontaneous as what the management had informed & to see the rest of the amenities (tennis court, swimming pool, shopping stores) open on the coming months.

do u think we can still apply for barwa housing?
what are the requirements?
I hope there's a proper bus/taxi terminal/stop over there for people who can't afford to get their own vehicle.

Thanks Nicaq25.
I actually applied at the Barwa compound in Wakra area and still waiting for my luck to be chosen among the names listed on their "reservation list".
Just getting curious how is it like living in a compound with mixed nationalities.
thanks again.
* satellite dish are normally restricted (but the management allowed us to install them on the grounds temporarily ,no access to the roof top).
* Only families are allowed here in Barwa Housing (Mesaimer) w/ minimum 2-3 children
* Contract is on yearly basis
* No news of rental increase yet (hope not!)
* Pets allowed are birds & aquarium fishes only.
* All Barwa tenants got car stickers for Gate Pass
* Supply of LPG is whole-year round (centralized)
* 24-Hour maintenance on call duty
* Muslims can worship to their mosque inside the compound, Christians can worship at the nearby church.
*24-Hour Security
Are there any restrictions with regards to installing satellite dishes? Limit to number of tenants per unit?
What about the lease period? is it on a yearly basis? Escalation rates any idea?
Please advise.
Thanks.
