Qtel behind ‘Fuel Your Senses’ drive

The mystery of the ‘Fuel Your Senses’ campaign was revealed yesterday when Qtel announced that it was the company behind the promotion.
People were intrigued over the past few weeks about the campaign and its mystery website, www.fuelyoursenses.qa
Thousands enjoyed free boat rides on the Corniche, audiovisual attractions at malls and T-shirts given away for free at stands across the country.
Qtel developed the campaign to deliver a world of new sensations for the people of Qatar, reflecting the new experiences it offers every day to its customers, chief executive officer Dr Nasser Marafih said.
“Every act of communication offers a new sensation for people – excitement, satisfaction, surprise or peace of mind. All of our services help to engage people’s senses and emotions, and ‘Fuel Your Senses’ really captures that,” he stated.
Many of the activities connected to the campaign have been designed to stimulate different senses, whether through massage chairs placed across Qatar (“a sense of peace”) or through a wide range of water-based activities at beaches and along the Corniche (“a sense of adventure”).
“The experiences and opportunities will continue to be available over the coming weeks, and everybody in Qatar is invited to participate for free,” the CEO said.
Interactive screen booths, which change image at the sound of one’s voice, have been set-up at The Villaggio and City Center Doha.
Visitors can get free ice skating tickets and free movie tickets at www.fuelyoursenses.qa, free customised T-Shirts at Landmark Mall at a special booth, and enjoy free boat rides and dhow cruises at special locations across Qatar.

FUEL UR SENSES has turned to TORTURE UR SENSES!!

Last weekend I hardly printed a couple of tickets to take my little brother for the buggy ride in sealine and after 1 hour driving The guys near Qtel location told me that The Qtel guy has left although it was 4 O' clock while in the ticket they said he will stay till 6 !!

So Qtel! its ridicules to put for such a big campaign only 1 guy who can leave whenever he wants ignoring that there are people driving form far away areas! is that supposed to FUEL my senses?

I just bought an iPhone, and to use it I had to upgrade from my Hala account. I went to Q-tel today, and the lady behind the computer kept on getting the message, "Text can only be entered in Arabic in this Field". Of course, she said that the form will be faxed through and sorted out manually either today or tomorrow, but i'll give them a week, and then start complaining again... who knows? So now my new toy sits in the cupboard and I can't use it.

MLK costs for internet is fair, they have offer now if u join their internet you will get 2 months FREE and last year they doubled the speed for every one with no extra charges..

But I agree with Dohaboke that they need work in their customer service specially when its face to face. The problem is that most of the customer service agents on Qtel are locals and they can bear to service expats well!!

Its funny that Qtel paid QL handful amount of money to put ads all over the website and at the same time QL has a topic on first page talking negatively about Qtel!

Maybe MLK and Bargainqueen are right. I think I am the lucky ones cos I never experienced long wait on helpline... and I get my problems solved in pretty decent time... though not as fast as in other countries I've been. But good enough.

As for customer service, I gotta say they need some work there. I don't asked to be treated as a special VIP when walking in. But it would be nice if someone entertained me properly with smile and decent interaction. Ayt least acknowledge my presence in the shop. Compare to walking into Vodafone shops where the guys just come to me and start talking to me like I'm a real human being. Many times I do feel like I have 2 heads with infectious disease when walking into qtel shops LOL... on well.

We shall see how fast they change. But at least they have been changing for better in some ways.

They are learning but for how long is the million dollar question! Here's the thing; I presume some folk somewhere in the company have woken up ( a bit.. maybe... let's see!)

We are the people who keep them in business - that coin seems to have dropped. So they are throwing some fun in our direction, at least in this fuel your whatever business. Fine... but for other departments inside the company like the helpline MLK - it's business as usual :( - The bottom line seems to be if you want help go get it yourself.

That's my opinion. But I am willing to wait and see.

that awful najoom advert campaign. The seem to like to promote the idea that there's is a "luxury product" but they keep coming up with these campaigns that look like they are about 8-10 years out of date.

And I know what you are saying. The key word here is "proactive", "focus and do it well" and "take lead"... and don't react just because someone else is doing it and then you are seen as just a follower and not a leader as you claim.

Then maybe QTEL will be loved better.

Am I right MLK?

Surely they are still learning, but for how long!

For selling there are always good offers of course, selling is never a problem, they will always be nice. After sales is another story, but frankly, when we insist a bit, QTEL staff is really nice and doing good job...waiting an hour over the phone is just crazy.

Offers suck as well finally, costs for Internet is far too high, same for the cost of communications...so they are focusing on mobile and forgot the landlines, just because competition did not start in this area. That is a pity that they wait for Vodafone to start good offers, that's why people do not like QTEL. They should propose good offers from now, so people will like them before any competition comes to the market.

We always complain complain and complain. We complain so much sometimes we don't even see what is out there anymore. We became so jaded and not enjoying what we have when it is in front of us.

Of course I complain about Qtel services at times. I also complain about Karwa, about QNB.. practically about anything in Doha.

I decided to stop doing this cos it just doesn't do any good for myself. So now I still complain, but I also start seeing the colours more.

So yeah... this competition between telecom companies is good. Like I said before, it only got Qtel to be better by the day. So I ain't gonna b**ch no more... well not that much : ) until something else start to "urine" me off more.

Absolutely - let's just enjoy the freebies on the fuelyoursenses.qa thing while they last! By the way - make sure your printer is connected and ready when you try to print out the dhow tickets! I lost my chance because my printer was offline and by the time i got it connected I had blown my chances!

I guess Qtel paid millions for this 'Fuel Your Senses' campaign so guys go out there and enjoy the free rides and massages!

Competition is good... see it made Qtel to be better, nicer and makes me smile. At least, they are beginning to make me feel good about being with them. They woke up. Better than not waking at all.

This is good for all of us cos now we have 2 good companies to choose from. Better than just one.
