Having dual GCC visas
By eric_flinch •
My wife has a permanent UAE visa under her father. Recently she obtained a permanent Qatar family visa under me. Is it possible to keep both the visas once she enters Qatar.
Some told me that there is a new rule that makes it possible to keep both the visas if we deposit Qr. 5000/- at the immigration. Is this true?
Thanks in advance.
Eric
Thanks for the info all you guys,
I did get Qatar RP for my wife, inspite of her having a UAE RP. At the Qatar Immigration Office there is a counter dedicated for dual residency. (Gate 1 Counter 10). I had to pay QR 1,000/- for a 2 year RP.
Since she is a student in UAE under her father, I was able to get her a family visa in Qatar. Just had to produce a letter in arabic to get it done.
it's my 2nd year here and i didnt pay anything maybe my university does.
you are allowed to have a student visa of a different GCC country but technically you are supposed to pay the QAR 2000 every year...
well i have saudi (family) and qatari (student) visa and no problem so far.
didnt pay anything.
is okay when the sponsor in both countries is the same, its basically meant for companies with employees in more than one GCC country... not sure how it would work in your case thoughbcos yours is family... but FYI... the UAE immigration usually does't make a fuss... its the guys here in Qatar who usally have a problem
And since they've granted you a visa... you could fly under the radar for until the visa is expired... Usually, they insist on any non-Qatari GCC visas being cancelled before they issue a Qatari one... but better check to be on the same side
u mentioned that her passport is stamped with uae visa and then u got her qatar visa stamped.
if qatar immigration granted her visa, then i dont think it is a problem to have dual gcc visas.
