New Traffic Cameras

New Traffic Cameras Qatar are not just nice looking - they are intelligent technology.
First thing is that these cameras do NOT flash. They can take photos in complete darkness through ultra-light sensors, so even if it does not flash, it could have caught you. They also automatically read your number plate from the picture taken.
Now, here comes the catch. These cameras are continuous photo-taking cameras and they will take your photo regardless if you have been speeding or not. Then the next camera in 3-5 kms again does the same. Now, instead of checking your speed through advanced radars, these cameras are very simple and all they do is calculate how fast you traveled between the 2 cameras. If you arrived at th e next camera faster than 120 km/h (or whatever the speed limit is) then you get fined.
What does this mean?
It means that you can stop speeding up between cameras and slowing down as it does not matter anymore. If you are speeding in between 2 cameras you will get fined.

got back regarding these new "smart" cameras, so it isn't a rumour.

I know what you are talking about UK... There is also a black landcruiser that is parked just before Rainbow R/a coming from Qatar Sports Club R/A... saw the flash the other evening when I was coming up from Intercon side - fortunately it wasn't me, I had just taken the R/A and was stuck behind traffic, so it must have been flashing the on coming traffic.

Oooops, sorry, DaRuDe, if this is not factual. It was sent to members of the Tuesday Ladies Group without citation. I should know better than to copy an uncited source.

Im sure that response is of course just from Indian nationalities but we here dont blame no one but saying that Indian people making 90 % of accident.

Whats wrong guys from this? The same in Italy most accident statistics say make Italians not strangers.

But here in Doha so sorry (admin if you are INdian please do nto delete my post like before) this is the cruel reality. Why? Like I say and this is just my personal opinion if you like it or not, just look at street how they drive. And I dont ask for camera location for this reason. Im here 3 years and I respect rules. Just one fine for wrong parking and this in Villagio. Police go around and putting sttickers but never never they put one at toyota if Qatari is inside. Dont delete the posts who speak about this and other irregularity in Doha.

Then close the forum if you censure everythings.

Also watch out for the mobile cameras in the Landcruisers or other 4x4's. I got one coming from the Midmac flyover towards the Ramada on Friday night.

Also there are two new camera's in between the first two R/a.. so drive carfefully..

Can We Fix It?

Well I think then you should forward the results of your study to the traffic department. They should ban all the Indians from driving, hopefully accident rate will reduce by 95 %..

By the way why do you want the location of the cameras, just follow the traffic rules and it won't matter if they put a camera every 10 meters..

And where are these located?

Great. Too bad they did not address the real issue of poorly made roads, crazy drivers who weave in and out of traffic endangering everyone else and the most irrelevant driving test in the world.

Just focusing on speeding is stupid. Parts of the autobahn in Germany have no speed limits yet the accident rates on those parts are some of the lowest in the world.
