I'm missing the rain

beckavery

Sounds stupid I know, but I'm desperately missing the rain of home, lying in bed in a morning and listening to the rain on the window, not knowing whether its gonna be dry, rainy, snowy, windy or maybe even a glimmer of sunshine. I miss the green lush grass and trees of home, pulling on our wellys and scarves/gloves and tramping through the long damp grass. I miss my beautiful garden full of mature trees and shrubs, the bulbs would be pushing through now, a little pale green shoot of a tulip or daffodil. Outside my window now there is tiled patio with a rectangular swimming pool and a token postage stamp sized piece of grass that is on its way out - oh how I miss the green green grass of home :(

well you're a very lucky man, I'm sure you're hating it but I bet it looks just beautiful, its always so magical and I still get excited when the first few flakes start to fall, it creates such a calm (initially) like a silent blanket over everything - rather wonderful, enjoy

me and you

How long you been here beckavery?

I have been here since june last year and the first 2 months were absolute hell on earth. I would have jumped on a plane and gone back home at the first chance! Just want to say it does get easier the more time you spend here. Chin up :-)

Well, I was in the UK for christmas and trust me it wasn't fun with the snow, as per usual the UK came to a standstill due to the snow. No flights, gridlock traffic, shopping centres closed, shelves in the supermarket were empty. What joy:-)

Personally I'm a rain and snow type of girl, absolutely not the right person to be living in the middle east! I'm gutted we missed the snow and haven't built a snow man this year!! It just doesn't feel right driving to school in a morning without a frizzy fringe...no pleasing some folks ay?

I totally agree about the rain, I miss it too. But currently at home it is snowing, so I'd prefer to be here :-)

my god, if i went in the shower fully dressed my poor husband would definitely think i had lost the plot and was completely loopy - there were a few drops of rain last week, I belted out and stood there arms out palms up feeling the rain on my face, fantastic, then it stopped, I must of felt all of 10 drops, but that was good :)

I know its all new and I'll start to adjust but it just all goes against the grain you know?
