i really need help. i just came here to Doha about 5 months. So, 4 months ago, i went to the traffic department to get Qatar driving license. Unfortunately, i just came here and i don't understand Arabic cos the documents written in Arabic. And there was a guy (from Iraq) seems sincerely that time to help me (we thought he's a runner or something like that). So my parents let the guy to settle it. At first he keeps all the documents, later on in the evening he called my father and asking for my original driving license card. But until now, nothings happen. We tried to call him few times, but he keeps on giving accuses. And we really suspicious of him. I really don't care about doing the license all over again, but i really do care about my personal details that he had. What i should do? Should i report to the police? or they will never give a damn about this kinda case? cos i really got the feelings that the license card and all the documents are not with him. Please help me!!!

first, get all your documents. . .just tell him, you changed your mind and you will do it on your own. . .

you got his number, mobile no. equivalent to Qatar ID (unless, he used another person's ID to get a sim card)

if he won't give back your papers. . .then involve the police (get a friend of yours who speaks arabic to explain to the police). . .and once you are in the police station, let him use your mobile phone to talk to the guy. . .(you will see how scared he can be by hearing an authorative voice on the other line)

second, you can get the license yourself. . .most of them can speak English and they will tell you what to do (although I have to enroll coz my license is expired)

Try to meet the big officer in that department.

first of all it's not stolen, you hand it over to him, and he could deny that.

better try to work it out with him, as u will regret going to the authorities just for going and coming back many times and the time that will be wasted.

u can use english language every where in doha. why did u give ur documents to someone to do a process for u because u dont understand arabic.

try to consult many people if u are in a new environment beforing taking a decision ..

Dont worry anyway.....u will get them back

If you can't get the drivers license back you have to make a police report regardless so you might as well try it now. You can't apply for a new one without a police report.

1st try to call the guy ask him for your papers, if you felt that he is playing any type of games , just apply with any legal office where they can process your papers officially, it is not expensive.

ignore that guy , he cannot do anything with your details.
