some of us are trying to prove somthing which is prohibited in ISLAM its a clear message for people who belive in ISLAM i think if you need a further discussion over liquor then bring any statement where it says LIQUOR is halal... you accept islam by choice or you are muslim by birth there are rules you have to obey or be murtad..
Adeeniy, the only thing that I am saying is that in the Quran not once is it mentioned that drinking alcohol is haram. And I never said neither that the Quran tells us to drink, it tells us that it is a harmful and an evil thing and that we should avoid it. Consumption of alcohol can lead to disastrous things, the list is endless. In many, if not most countries in the west, direct alcohol advertisement is no longer allowed because of all the alcohol related problems that they face. Nevertheless, all around the world people drink and they have no problems, the problems come from excess, if you drink with moderation, then in my opinion, it is OK. This does not mean that I encourage alcohol consumption, I myself do not drink but it is based on a personal choice and not a religious one.
Finally, another proof of the greatness of the Quran when it states that in alcohol (khamr, read wine) are some benefit virtues……..but avoid it, it is scientifically proven that a glass of red wine a day is good for your health, but one glass only.
Hello everybody, I just want to advise some people here who prove to be highland of knowledge.
You can open your lips, take your pen or computer key board say and write what ever you wish about what ever issue except the religion issues which are so sensitive.
Do not talk about what you are not sure of, "Talk not or give sermon not about what is beyond your knowledge" particularly a religion issue like this.
Anybody can drink what so ever he/she likes or wishes, but if you are devoted and conscious MUSLIM you will never move closer to what God Has forbidden talkless of having doing it.
As well as it is a tremendious sin in the sight of God for somebody who is a Muslim name bearer to unveil publicly and make alcohol drinking lawful, and challenging the Muslim Schollars on that. Indeed, this is a grate mistake and shortcoming a such person, it is better for him/her to tender his/her repentance to his God for offending Him by making the unlawful things lawful in the public.
I do not want to mention any name but he/she should know him/herself (Who said that: Alcohol is not prohibited in Islam...)This is your point of view and it is not Islamic.
Islam come to prevent human's life, brain, wealth and integrity as well as his/her humanity...
May God (Allah) forgive and overlook all our shotcomings and unreasonable thinking, He is all Forgiver all Merciful.
Cherukkan, I probably no for sure I know better Arabic then you and yes I have read the Quran, several times and I challenge you to tell me in which verse does it say that alcohol is haram! In one verse it says (an early sourate at the beginning of Islam) do not pray while you are drunk and in another one it say that it is an evil thing (not the right translation but in Arabic: rijs min al shaitan) so AVOID IT and in a third verse it says in alcohol (khamr) and…….. are some benefit virtues and malignant virtues but the malignant ones are greater so AVOID IT. That’s it, in three verses only is alcohol mentioned in the Quran and never is it stated that it is haram.
Biju Abraham, Qatar Airways used to allow their Muslim staff, pilots anyway to get liquor permits but I know that some time ago they stopped, I do not know if the reverted their decision though.
Cherukkan you are absolutely wrong. As is stated before, if the company you are working fore issues you a detailed salary statement addressed to QDC, then you go there and you get your liquor permit, independently of your religion. Once again the only ones that are prohibited by law to get a liquor permit are GCC nationals! Moreover, what is this nonsense “that a Muslim can get liquor if he has got a company registered in his name” and “I know some people personally who are Muslims who have liquor permit in the name of their Companies and are using personally. You will see lots and lots of Muslims in QDC buying liquor with a license issued for their Companies” a liquor permit is personal and can only be issued to a person and only he can use it. The only companies that get liquor permits are restaurants, hotels and some clubs like the rugby club. So stop writing about stuff you do not know about instead of assuming things.
Furthermore, QDC criteria for issuing liquor permits are based upon your company letter and you not being a GCC national. Hence, if you are a Muslim and you are a tea boy and your company is willing to give you the letter addressed to QDC ( which they will probably not, as many companies have the policy of only issuing the letters addressed to QDC to higher management) then you will get a permit. Therefore, you do not need to be a manger if you are a Muslim to get liquor permit.
It frustrates me when people post thing that they do not know about or that they assume that that is the way it is, or the way it should be.
the one, if you are not sure of what quran says about alcohol then please do not make wrong statements in a public forum. You should first get a complete translation of quran in your language and read it properly before writing such false statements or should talk to someone who knows what is written in quran about alcohol. I do not have time now to teach you the verses in which it is clearly mentioning about the usage of alcohol.
QDC never ask the relegion of the applicant: it is very strange that Qatar Airways is not issuing letter for liquor permit (I dont belive) Do you know QDC is owned by Qatar Airways. ha ha ha
now not every muslim feels dat drinking is haram rite?few drink and rest dont...so if they are not bothered den why are we..give them der freedom to do wat they want..itz der life no matter wat ever haram it is..and we are not goin to get anything by going and putting up a complaint because if can cause to closing down of QDC for a while..So the best solution is,LET THEM DRINK WHO WANT TO DRINK..
QDC never ask the applicants relegion: They are business people and also very strange Qatar Airways not giving letter to employees, do you know QDC is owned by Qatar Airways they are selling to public not allowing their staff to use it. very strange ha ha ha.
NPA is thinking that he is a person who knows everything. Get me one record in QDC showing liquor license in the name of a Muslim. I told in my post very clearly that a muslim can get liquor if he has got a company registered in his name. Many such people are using the licence for personal purpose rather than for business purpose. I know some people personally who are Muslims who have liquor permit in the name of their Companies and are using personally. You will see lots and lots of Muslims in QDC buying liquor with a license issued for their Companies.
Mohandas says "QDC is issuing licences for muslims who is in the position of Managers, CEO, etc... and mostly they are using it for giving treat for bussiness parties with foreign deligates of all over the world. "
That too is illegal. QDC rules regarding who can drink and where are quite clear!
QDC is issuing licences for muslims who is in the position of Managers, CEO, etc... and mostly they are using it for giving treat for bussiness parties with foreign deligates of all over the world.
my QL friends for me i dont care muslim or non muslims drinks, what matter most is their faith to god or allah, their dids and action to peoples, neighbors and their love ones.
i have some times drinks face to face to these people and we enjoyed it very much.
It is annoying when people who have no clue about what they are talking about post stupid erroneous answers or topics. So cherukkan and sauud, Muslims can get a liquor licence but GCC nationals cannot. However some companies like Qatar Airways stopped issuing salary statements addressed to QDC (you need it from your company in order to get a permit in QDC) for Muslims, I do not know if they have reverted and started issuing them the letters again, but for a while, I know that they stooped.
To summarise, if your company is willing to issue you a detailed salary statement addressed to QDC, you will get a liquor permit unless you are a GCC national, so it is only GCC nationals who are prohibited by law to get a liquor permit and not Muslims in particular. I hope the answer was clear enough.
Another thing, where in the Koran do you reed that alcohol is prohibited or that it is a sin, I challenge anyone to indicate in which verse in the Koran it is written. It is written than one should avoid it, but nowhere is it written that it is forbidden (haram). It is clearly written that god has forbidden one to eat pork meat, but as I stated earlier it is not written that god has forbidden alcohol.
Now the argument used, is that avoid it (alcohol) is the same as we forbade you to drink alcohol. I do not agree, if it was meant to be forbidden, it would have been written so.
Unknown to non Muslims, is that the Koran actually acknowledges the benefit in consuming low levels of alcohol, as it states that it has benefit and malignant virtues but the malignant ones are greater so avoid it! Hence, if you consume alcohol occasionally in moderate level, Islam has not issue with it. However, scholars know that if they would allow it, people would not contain them selves and would abuse and would no longer listen them, hence they would lose power and that is something they would never want!
We can never know if they really issuing license for Muslim to purchase alcoholic drinks, But its impossible that no Muslim drinks alcohol here in Qatar. :)
galloper, and others.. are you guys for real?? have you ever been to any bar/pub/night club in Qatar? WHO do you think is occupying these places every single night??
do you think they are Pagans? or they practice 'RA' or 'Thor' religion? ...
hi!QL its not a matter of religion but for those who wants to drink alcohol u can't stop them ok,they will hide and pretend bcoz its not allowed soooooooooo be open that's the answer...........
stupid idiot man who told u that muslims can get license here for liquor in this county its illegal for muslims and dont come here just for barking if u dont have right information ok get lost now
I am kind of very surprise to read few comments.. Liqur is HARAM In ISLAM ... and Muslim sud not drink it for any cost.. Islam made rules for muslim if a muslim think he is human and human sud have freedom then get out of Islam and try those religion where they allow freedom..Islam is modern religion with freedom but has its limits with boundries..

and some of the stupid says its a choice what you wanna make i think then people sud start killing randome people just cuz its a choice ..
i think its a Rule you chose to follow a path where you want your life to be forever and its Islam where they clearly says liquor is haram for MUSLIMS
if its your choice to drink then you sud get punished like it says in Deen
some of us are trying to prove somthing which is prohibited in ISLAM its a clear message for people who belive in ISLAM i think if you need a further discussion over liquor then bring any statement where it says LIQUOR is halal... you accept islam by choice or you are muslim by birth there are rules you have to obey or be murtad..

No compromise over Religion
Muslims are human.
If a person wants to drink he can drink its not a matter of religion.
A muslim will not get liquor license in his name. They can get it for a Company registered in their name.
try to mind ur own business in a country you make ur living from...........
why don't u mind ur fxxx business
aleta if you have enough and solid proof that "muslims" are getting a "liquor license" approach the proper authorities.
A public forum is not the best choice for that.
Regards!!
Because few muslims consume liquor more than other religion people.
