1- Jewelry? ---DAMAS...though the last time I bought from them was 3 years ago: diamond set for my mother (earring, ring and necklace)

2- Grocery? -- LULU hyper (near my place) and Carrefour

3- Good food (any cuisine):

-> Chinese: Wok & Walk - they deliver too

-> American: breakfast: Ric's Kountry Kitchen

hamburgers: Fudruckers

steak: Country grill (Villagio Mall)

seafood: Al Bandar

Buffet Brunch : Intercon or Marriott

-> Filipino : Little Manila (behind Hamad Hospital/near Phil Labor Office) OR Central Cafe

4- Chocolate: any grocery stores

5- Cup of tea or coffee: Coffee Beanery / Starbucks

6- Internet cafe? they exist in Doha; most of the one's I know are here in Matar Qadeem;and since there's some areas and CAFES with free WIFi, IT'S not that popular. But there's one in City centre

7- Currency Exchange : Al Fardan (in Grand Hamad Street)

You're welcome (you did said thank you...)

In Doha, where would you shop for :

1- Jewelry? --- Gold Souq/Damas/Jewelry shop inside Carrefour.

2- Grocery? --- I still prefer Lulu, but do my groceries for two years now in Carrefour. Hypermarket is too far and of course would cost high when taking a taxi. Gharaffa area Lulu, it will be difficult for me coming back home. Again, transport is my problem so Carrefour City Center is bearable.

3- Good food (any cuisine) --- Asian Reastaurant near TV R/A & Thai Restaurant near Doha Clinic Hospital.

4- Chocolate --- Carrefour.

5- Cup of tea or coffee --- N/A. not a coffee/tea-drinker.

6- Internet cafe? (do they even exist in Doha?) --- at home. =) but turbo internet cafe near intersection at Medical City-CHN is good.

7- Currency Exchange --- again because of accessibility, Qatar-UAE exchange at City Center, but if sending higher amount, I go to Aljazeera Exchange at Al Sadd (fronting Qtel). they have the highest exchange rate I know.

By those questions, I meant which ones is YOUR favorite (?)

I can't stand Starbucks, is there anything that is local to Doha?

I know that there are plenty of restaurants, but which ones do YOU like? What is YOUR favorite?

Is it true that on weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) they only allow Qataris and families in City Centre mall?

thank you all :)

Tea/Coffee - I'm used to cappuccino or caffelatte or latte macchiato, but honestly 99% of the starbuck/costa/cafe paris/whatever staff are not able to make a custom cup if you ask them to. They stick to the menu and that's it

Grocery - can't beat the Lulu Hypermarket near Landmark. The Carrefour in Landmark has lost a lot of business to them - the selection and freshness of vegies are much better at the Lulu. The Carrefour has the remainders from the rest of the chain it seems (lots of expired stuff at times).

Coffee / Tea - get the tea at any supermarket. Coffee at Starbucks / Costa Coffee / Second cup. The stuff in the supermarkets is aweful. I've been buying my coffee while overseas at specialty shops and bringing it back (i'm almost out of my Costa Rica trip and am wondering what to do now!).

Internet cafe's are not often advertised. They are often buried in other shops like stationary stores.
