Nanny vs. Daycare
Hi I will be moving to Qatar with my husband and 2 young children. My son will be 2 1/2 and second will be about 2 months. I have lived in Saudi Arabia for 3 years so I have experienced having a nanny. I wanted to know from other moms living in Qatar which is better with young children having a live in or daily nanny or putting them in daycare. I also wanted to know which is less expensive. Also what is the average price of a live in or daily nanny in qatar and what are the average monthly fees for daycare for a toddler?

Five days per week at a nursery will run ~QR1900, but it's only a 7-2 situation at the majority of the nurseries.
I actually do both nursery and a full-time live-in. . .it's worth it for the flexibility. :)
You can get a full-time live-in maid for 1500 qr a month. It costs more than that for 1 child for daycare. For example 2 years ago I sent my 4 year old to Eldertree Nursery only 3 days a week/part time and it was 1200 qr a month.
