Sidewalks

I am quite sure this isn't the first time sidewalks have been brought up but humor me for a few minutes......

What's up with the sidewalks in Doha???? I enjoy walking (Not great distances as I need to maintain my beer belly) but have found on many many occassions that sidewalks are either under construction, under repair or just plain old "Don't exist" In fact I have come across a couple of sidewalks that lead a person straight to a 2m+ hole. WTF over???????????

I would love to have a nice comfortable walk knowing that I'm reducing greenhouse gases and enjoy the ambiance in Doha without fear of twisting/breaking my ankle.

Worse yet is the notion that I would have to expend energy on my walk and lose my beer belly......
