Hi,

The situation for any special needs kids is extremely bad in Qatar. I am not sure what kind of services are needed for your kid but I will assume that he must have an IEP for him that must have behavior, educational and other goals. You have also not mentioned that, is he attending age appropriate class ?. If you provide some details about his needs I can comment. I have a 5 year old whom I have to send back to Canada as I was not able to get any appropriate services. Qatar is still in DARK AGE as far as special needs is concerned. "Shafaullah Center" is nothing but a poster child and mostly for Arab Kids. Getting admission in it is none to impossible.

So, if you shed some light on his needs, I can provide a more meaningful answer.

I saw an Autism awareness campaign in Hyatt Plaza last weekend. They were doing a good job.

Shaffallah is the name heard when it comes to Autism. There is help available, if you really look around.I heard from a friend of ours who has an autistic son that Ayurveda is quite useful. All the best.

Very difficult to find a school place in Qatar. Depends on his needs, but I suggest you investigate available school places before moving.
