just go with the original Dubai license (6 months validity minimum) and its copy, plus take ur residence permit copy also.

Yes, you can get Qatar DL by showing your UAE DL and no your UAE DL will not be cancelled.
For getting DL you may have to go to Traffic Department at Madinat Khalifa.
