A guest or a parasite?

Ever had a guest in your house, who out-stayed his / her welcome, ate you out of your provisions and in short, became a parasite? Do you have any interesting anectdotes on how you got yourself out of the situation?

Was helping a friend out with her problems with her landlord a few years back but she took things for granted and eventually, I asked her to pay for the phone bills - cos I wasn't using the phone but she was on it for loooong chats. By the way, she's a doctor and she was earning about 3 times my salary so I thought it was just taking advantage. Kept reminding myself to turn the other cheek but finally, it got to over a limit and I kicked her out. I did warn her - more than 4 times. It's like this with me and friends or colleagues - but there is a limit. Some people shamelessly use other people. They need to change for the better.

On the 24 hour you better start telling that person It is your time to leave, your extended visit has expired. Gather your shit and pack out.

Guests should always be treated well. However, if you have any unwelcome guest, try to fry a whole chilli in front of hir/her.

But please very carefull while frying because the chilli will explode.

There is a saying in our country:

Guest for a day gets tasty food

Guest for 2 days gets our daily food

Guest for more may eat whatever they can find.

sometimes it happens, some people do not appreciate

they overstay.

Ask them gently to think of changing their way of life, to look for job seriously, to pay you the rent if they share your accomodation ... etc.

A respectful guest appreciate his host and is thankful to him.

Guests are never considered parasites where I come from no matter how long they stay.
