If the project will end in next 6 month, its better to wait for next 6 Months. If he is starting from now it will take atleast 2 to 3 Months to arrange everything and the expenses will be pretty high for initial arrangements. But if he can get shared conveyance with any of his colleagues, its worth giving a try. The main problem is conveyance from near by city (Alkhor) and arranging Driving license and Car is a lot more expensive and time taking affair which I will never suggest. Moreover the Salary limit is Qr 7000 or 4500Qr for getting a visit Visa. If he has the eligibility and shared conveyance is available, you can go for it. Few more information as follows:

1. Shared Villa 2000Qr to 2500Qr per month

2. House Hold 2500Qr to 3000Qr One time (Can be sold while leaving)

3. Food expenses 1000Qr, Others 500Qr per Month

4. Daily office Conveyance 500Qr to 1000Qr per Month.

5. Visa cost 300Qr for 1 Month and Extension for 5 months 1000Qr (Provided he qulifies the minimum salary limit)

I hope this is helpful.

I'm feeling sad for a new wed couple, facing such problems.

I'd recommend you to find yourself a job in doha, i hope it'll make things easier for you two if not worse.

cheers

I've mixed feelings about Gama. I've no idea what there pay grade is like but I'm assuming it's similar to the rest of the companies. They do have a pretty nice camp for the workers with a lot of leisure options, computers, tv, movies etc. It's A LOT better then many of the others I've seen. My only worry about them is from a safety standpoint in that they tend to put the safety of their staff last. But they are improving dramatically on that front.

If he likes working for them I suggest he stay with them.

oh.ok. He was about to come on this may.But the project ending date has been changed. So, his trip was cancelled. Anyways, Thanks Olive. BTW, what do you feel about Gama Qatar?Y am asking is, he has been there for 3 years .once his project ends, he have to come to india. He dont have the option of searching job also from being there. I dunno whats happening there.

gotta married b4 6 months by now. He always says, i cant take yu away with me and i ll come there. I used to tell him to search a job while being there.but he doesn't. Would yu been with gama in a contract? How did yu search for ur present job?

I'm sorry to say I don't think there is a way Arafath. Sounds to me like he's listed as the lowest category of labourer and if that's the case then he's restricted to the camps, which you can't get on. I'm afraid you'll just have to wait out the six months.

Is he on the QG3&4 Project?

if he earn over 7.5k.. he is eligible for family visa unless he's marked as lowest category labour in his ID Card.

Arafathsaleem, ask your husband to apply for family visit visa which would initially be for 1 month and can be extended for up to total of 6 months.

If he's living in the camps then you have no way to stay with him if you visit. You won't even be able to get access to where he lives as he's in an extremely security controlled area. Even if you were to visit and stay in a hotel in Al Khor he would not be able to come visit you any day but Friday's as those are the only days that buses from the camps will take workers to Al Knor.

My guess is that he doesn't have the option to rent his own place and is required by his contract to live in the camps (this of course depends on his position). If he does have the option then he could rent a place in Al Khor, but it would be expensive and he would need a car.

Is it 10,000 or 7500QR?

Qatar only provides family visa's to people earning over 10,000 QR per month. Also if he's working for Gama, chances are he lives in the camps and there's no places for families in the camps.
