IT SEEMS NOT!

A lovesick pilot threatened to crash his plane after a row with his girlfriend, it was claimed yesterday
The distraught JetBlue pilot was held in a crew lounge an hour before takeoff after threatening to kill himself 'in spectacular fashion'.

It was reported on local radio that he had emailed his girlfriend, a flight attendant, saying that if they did not resolve their differences he would crash the plane

with the pilots. Given a chance they would jump up and down to get their attention.

love is a feeling or an emotion that i guess not any one man can live without (this is just my opinion).

but to the pilots and other professions whose responsibility includes taking care of many lives, they should ALWAYS know the consequence should they prefer to mind love first before duty..

this reminds me of the movie entitled the Passengers...

Leave your problems on the ground or stay on the ground! The authorities have overstressed this point in human performance publications and various saftey programmes but every now and then we get a pilot losing his mind in the cockpit. Air Botswana saw a pilot commiting suicide by crashing an atr 72 into a fleet of other atrs parked in the area. Apparently a silk air pilot crashed a 737 full of passengers the faa said it was a pilot suicide accident though the courts ruled against it stating it a was rudder failure accident because of the 737 rudder history. Egypt air also had an accident involving pilot suicide. To answer your question britexpat yes we are allowed to fall in

Love but when that love boat starts sinking we should use our intelligence and follow the guidelines set in place by the authorities which most pilots do anyway

Pilots should be only allowed to rise in love and not fall in love...because if they fall they will take many others with them.

Pilots are responsible for the lives of hundreds of people at any time.. Anyway, If pilots weren’t allowed to fall in love, then there would be more airhostesses available for us common folk...

britexpat: Ok. But then will you also prevent drivers from falling in love? What about construction workers? Soldiers? Cruise ship captains?
