I have heard from some of the past discussions that you cannot open a venture of your own in qatar, you need to have a local by your side. I wish to start my training institute or train people on technology skills around Cisco, Microsoft, Goverance and Project Management.

Also, is it illegal to do something else besides your job over the weekend will there be an issue with existing employer.

Its illegal as per Qatar Labor law and company act. Please read your labor contract and clarify whether your present sponsor allowing you to work outside your institution.

For starting an institute there is some procedures to be completed, the details you will get from MOE and COC

If it is illegal, how does the teachers from public shools have tution classes on the off timings and week ends? They have hundreds of pupils comming for private coaching !!

I think this illegality is only you do similar business as same as your sponsor.

I would really like to know about private tution . Is it illegal or not?

it IS illegal 'to do something else besides your job over the weekend'. It will be an issue with existing employer, UNLESS your 'existing employer' signed a NOC letter permitting such activities. Then - alves - it IS allowed.

do you think why all of us are sitting here on QL for the entire day? If it was legal, everyone would do some extra Job.. :):)
