Hi, my boyfriend (fiancee) is in doha for last 6 months and working with qatar bank. I am planning to leave my current Job in Delhi public school rk puram where i am working since last 10 years. I got some offer from Birla who are paying me 6000 QR with some benefits. Is this a standard salary, i thought i would be paid much better.

I teach maths and science to classes IV and V, what is the average salary i should be able to get.

I have 10 years experience, Mcom, Bed.

Soniya jee, chill, I just meant it was not required to answer it after so long. I forgot about it.

And according to your link :-

Needy is

1. Being in need; impoverished. See Synonyms at poor.

2. Wanting or needing affection, attention, or reassurance, especially to an excessive degree.

So is she poor or does she needs emotional attention/ affection?

By soniya• 22 Jun 2010 12:45
soniya

deepb, i don't have free time like u to sit on QL for 24*7...I have other constructive and creative works to do besides QLing..got ur first answer????

coming to ur next question : she falls under the category of a person who need help from others..may i give u some more links related to it coz i hate copy-paste..

Venky: First off, based on our earlier conversation, I am not the only one who makes assumptions. I believe you made an assumption at work recently...? Secondly, what else did I assume?

By venky_83• 1 Jun 2010 20:34
venky_83

Khawaga: This was not just based on the comment above ;)

By Khawaga• 1 Jun 2010 16:03
Khawaga

venky: too many assumptions? I made ONE! You have said that you routinely talk to women who go on and on about their point, making the same remark one-tenth of a gazillion times. From that statement and the fact that you think that meeting "normal" and "quality" women is going to be so difficult, I deduced (or assumed, as it were) that you are meeting the wrong sort of women. Is that a huge stretch in logic?

By venky_83• 1 Jun 2010 15:57

Khawaga: You do tend to make too many assumptions, don't you?

Soniya, I am asking her to ditch him and and not to stay together. However, if there are rules then there must be loopholes as people are innovative. i know in some places ppl enter into sham marriages to save taxes, if not to live together.

By anonymous• 1 Jun 2010 14:42

that boy is her fiance... they will get married, once she arrived in doha... hope so... :D

By soniya• 1 Jun 2010 14:22
soniya

shapil, how can a bf/gf stay together in doha if they aren't married??

By shapil• 1 Jun 2010 14:15
shapil

If I were you...I would take the offer..come to doha...ditch the bf who doesnt want his gf to be near him..start the job..simultaneously keep looking for better job...secure the job..navigate the red tape and join the new job...find a new bf..the last one should be easy.

By Khawaga• 1 Jun 2010 14:04
Khawaga

Venky: Oh dear. There are so many responses to that! Suffice to say that you are merely talking to the wrong kind of women.

By venky_83• 1 Jun 2010 08:16
venky_83

Khawaga: You know women, once you get them started you cannot make them stop come what may. So I trained my mind to tune them out the moment they starting about how different you are and I respond with a simple, "Yes, I understand." ;)

By Khawaga• 31 May 2010 15:23

Well, cutting someone off in the middle of a sentence, sure. That's rude. But steering the conversation to something else... that's normal.

One thing I have learned. While dealing with a woman, NEVER and I stress, NEVER EVER cut her in the middle of a conversation, unless you are planning to suicide.

By Khawaga• 31 May 2010 15:09

Venky: I blame you for this repetition. I understand making a point and the reiterating the point, sure. But you should have cut her off after around a trillion or so!

By venky_83• 31 May 2010 11:50
venky_83

Khawaga: I have asked 10 women who have told me that a gazillion times. You know, woman love to talk about themselves, especially when it comes to them being different from other women :P

By Khawaga• 31 May 2010 01:40
Khawaga

Venky: you have spoken to a gazillion women? Or have you just asked the same woman the same question a gazillion times and gotten the same answer?

10 Years Teaching experience at the age of 27 isn't Odd. Most of the teachers start their career after Graduation & then go for Private B.Ed or M.Ed. I think its normal.

SoniaSehgal...As someone advised you above, ask your employer for a written agreement mentioning all the salary & perks details in it before coming here.

By Khawaga• 30 May 2010 15:14

venky: But have you really heard that more than a billion times?

That said, I agree that quitting a job to move to another country to be with a bf who doesn't want you is a bit on the odd side...

First please make confirm your position in the school. 6000+allowance is a good offer as you said that you teacher of class IV and V but Sonia, make official agreement before coming to QATAR, read each and everything before sign any paper, make sure that every thing is clear to you. I understand that why your BF dont allow you to come in DOHA but make him understand that you a brave girl and nothing to worry. Its not a easy decision, pray to GOD and wish you good luck for your future.

... I doubt the intention of this question and the cleverly created quagmire over the boyfriend issue ...

she or he wants to have just consternation among the QL members.

No way, an Indian school give more than 4000..!!!

even if she has 10 years experience. but she has to create an atmosphere abot the "boyfreind" issue, so she has to say her age is 27

No way to discourage her. I sent her a PM also welcoming , if she really gets that salary. But really she got a written contract ? or a telephonic interview who offers heaven !! ( May be the interviewer told her -- including the home tuition at evenigs she can earn 6000 )

Don't worry about it. Someone from Birla or the parents of the children from the school must have read this post with your full name as well. Since you want to stay with your boyfriend and it is illegal, the offer will very likely be retracted. Refrain from posting job offer details in your full name with company details next time and edit this one just in case you still have time.

sonia, i too have one question for u..how do u have 10yrs of working experience when u r just 27yrs old?? so does it mean that u started working at the age of 17??

Do u know i too had gone for the interview in BIRLA SCHOOL some 2yrs back, not for teaching line but for other post, they were offering me half of the salary that i used to get in my job where i was working then..

I was having the best option to kick their offer and stick to the job which i was doing..lol

One thing more,no couples can stay together if they aren't married in MIDDLE east..ok..

it is highly unlikely, an Indian school gives 6000 + 1000

in Qatar...It is next to impossible.

this salary is given to headmistress / vice principal of the school.

the average salary of teacher in "Indian School" is around 3500-4000.

In case your boyfriends is working in Bank, you may even stay together after marraige, which will be total earning of your salary......LOL

again - 6000 is UNLIKELY..
