Hacking for Victory

genesis
By genesis

It's really pathetic when one of our leading local newspapers publish in its first page the news of a Qatari Hacker who cracks down official Israeli & danish websites saluting his action and claiming that he delivers the messages of objection against The blockade in Gaza!

http://www.raya.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=536606&versi...

It's even more unfortunate , when his work is depicted as heroic!

While it's no secret that hacking official websites is recognized internationally as cyber crime (I really like to know ICT reaction to the news, specially with their Q-CERT campaign about cyber security in government related websites

Not only his work is childish , but he uses obscene words to spread his message!!!

http://www.zone-h.org/mirror/id/10803577

Is this really the ideal way to get the world's sympathy to our causes ?

I'm really ashamed from our local newspaper to run such a story

Qatari Hacker?

Qatar has so few trees, what does he hack?

Does he use an axe or a chopper?

By bleu• 6 Jun 2010 20:06

LOL... script kiddie.

That's useless, real websites have online, offline, and remote backups and can be easily restored when needed.

Just a simple disruption, and a chance for their IT to get a higher budget next year! :)

We join such groups not because of any particular religion but because as a human we feel for them. I may not be able to do much on a personal level for those in Gaza, atleast I can spread their message :)

...Mr. John of Arc, dig at the roots instead of just hacking at the leaves.

...Like many of us here, I actually haven't read the hacker's message, I wouldn't care less what it said. It's truly in bad taste and inappropriate, however I wouldn't expect an (angry) hacker would have left a loving "Peace" note to Israel.

It's very disturbing for you to take the liberty to display this foul language in details in your post.

I really respect your opinion and I assure you, you are totally correct in that sense, sometimes a Muslim or a Christian do mistakes, you are saying the right thing about using bad and severely harsh language, but didn't almighty the merciful God created us in difference to learn from each others and see others mistakes and don't do it, I admit that no one should do the same, yet can we blame the youngsters from being furious, their blood is on heat, sometimes they don't use common sense in the right way and am not giving any excuse but that's the way it is. Israel is using the brain in each action they do in the end all the world would say; oops we have misjudged them, but the truth would never be always in grave one day it will be surfaced, if someone wants really to do it right; they have to use the real common sense in dealing with this cause its the only way should be taken to.

Yes i'm not in favor of any kind of publicity, that it must be on the front page of a news paper, but if i'm not mistaken, its common everywhere that for attracting more and more readers, and to increase the profitability, print and electronic media always use the same tricks.

btw, i've doubt if this newspaper is the property of govt?

Dot.com as I said earlier, everyone employs hackers.. US, Israel, Russia, India, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi.. everyone but nobody else publishes it on the front page of their national newspaper because it is not right. You don't want people to think that hacking is something to be proud of, how will you feel if I hack your email account and believe me I can do it in 15 minutes maximum :)

By samir_yassir• 6 Jun 2010 00:37
samir_yassir

You are correct in a sense of that is not the right action to be taken but could you please look at my recent post and try to answer me please, its not right to do a bad thing but if you have two sons and one of them os really bad and he is above 18 and you cant take it anymore from him what would you do do you keep on supporting him or do you ask him to leave your property and at least you keep on the good one since he is not a bad one they are both your sons but one is in school and trying to make a good future with your help and the other one is just a gunky and wont listen to your rules at all, it may not relate to the subject from one point of view but try to think over lets see if you can find out how it would fit, because just a small mistake from the other son would make you kick him out although its one small mistake

but I agree with Genesis, tolerating something considered a crime is not ideal. Again, wrong perception is created and it will be a very bad precedent. They always say that Israel broke international law when they seized that ship but now defends an act of internationally-recognized "cyber crimes". Really just a need to ask, which side you're on?

You know I have seen the comments from all of you and I could see people are against and some others are with, but I want to ask who are against are you against the Israeli government who bombed the innocent unarmed ship last Monday, let us see the scenario from another angel lf the ship needed help and it was an Israeli ship and it hits one of the Muslims countries which is totally not in peace with them (without pointing) and the ship was also unarmed what would we have to expect from the mentioned country to do bomb the ship, or at least help and let them go in peace, we have to get what we give guys nothing less nothing more, and this young Guy who did that thought that this is the way he could contribute in a cause he believed in, so can we be fair and please like we have discussed earlier in one thread who are we to judge can we judge, and when can we judge if we don't if we don't even know how to judge....

Ignorance is a gift from God, not knowing that we are wrong is a disaster, but knowing and not confessing is the worst catastrophe,,,,/

.......genesis, you're maybe more concerned about Qatar's computer system, as their hackers would now want to retaliate. But let me tell you, it was going to happen anyway, even if Qatar hasn't publicized it.

And at this point of time, with the current crimes perpetrated by the Zionists, may all their systems burn down or sink in oily water.

Don't talk reason to me please.

I meant that publishing this in a state newspaper , could be interpreted as government approval for such action. When in fact cyber crime is punishable as per Qatari law and there is a dedicated section at MOI to track down cyber hacking & internet-theft

why publish such a story in the state newspaper?!!

Government offices here have just started considering security in their IT systems. And it's still considered Primitive in the global scale

Haven't they consider publishing such news may lead for tit-for-tat by Israeli or danish hackers?
