I'm a Sri Lankan, currently in Doha on a Visit Visa (Since April 2010). I have attended around 20 interviews. Most of them are agreed to give the jobs. But, after some times they do not respond for phone calls, mails and sms.
Some are took my copies of documents for Visa Processing. Don't no why they giving hopes and breaking it later. Anyone, please tell me the correct reason.

In the GCC countries there is no sense of urgency. A position could be open for a year if not more with out filling it. Applicants from third world countries are not given a fair chance as there will be hundreds lining up at any given time for a job opening.

i encounter also like this problem maybe 3 times. the company promised that i hired already but later on they changed there mind. they ask me twice to report for actual exam in programming where i did my best. im qualified for the said position. im already hopeless because my visa will expire soon. but im still thinking positive that someday i will get the job...

regards to all...

dear sri lankan friend...

one of my friend had in qatar by visit visa.

he got a job and job offer letter.

then the company said him to exit from qatar for visa processing purpose,

then he go to india...

what happend last....

no visa no job... he still in india...

take care ...

WE CAN NOT BELEIVE THE ARGUMENT FROM THE EMPLOYER. BECOUSE THEY KNOW THEY HAVE or DONT HAVE VISA. 100% SURE.

DEAR dont fall

A lot of companies I know have vacancies but with the visa issues, its kind of frustrating that you get promised of a job and some would even call you back to inform you the updates. But, it's how it is nowadays.

But don't lose hope, you'll get a job one way or the other.

YOu cannot blame the companies or employers. They might have found better than you. It all depends on your luck and time. If everything works fine, you will get the job. It happened to me too. I had been selected in Saudi Arabia and they asked my Passport copy and educational certificates. After two days, they sent me email that they have postponed the hiring. It all depends on our luck brother. Keep trying and keep on trying. Don't loose the hope. All the best
