Beautynbrain - QAWS welcomes new volunteers at the shelter on a Friday or Saturday between 4-6pm to show them around the shelter and show them what it is QAWS does and how volunteers can help.
If you need a location map to find QAWS, you can visit www.qaws.org.
QAWS does use the Government Vet for free vaccinations and for neutering cats. However, for more complex injuries, surgeries and illnesses we prefer to use the expat vets because of their up to date techniques and facilities.
Just yesterday the Government vet came to the shelter for another round of vaccinations.
chelsea - I always visit Govt Vet center for my cat and I feel they are really good. (Only language is an issue). I was wondering why QAWs goes for private clinics and spends so much of money there on vaccinations when you have good government centers available. I mean you can use the money on many other things.
Chemical Sterilisation is not available in Qatar so they would need to go to the vets for the surgery. There are 3 vets that you could use - 2 expat vet clinics or the ministry vet clinic. The ministry vet clinic is free whereas the expat clinics will set you back QR500+ but do they have far superior trianing, techniques and equipment.
