It so funny coz I didn't say hey I am British I am the best person living on this earth.....They sometimes hire teachers there to teach in the council itself or recommend other places to teach.I was wondering do they have any vacancies there yet or not???????????? Maybe I didn't clarify in my question as simple as that...Thx anyways

Wrong time to search for a job miranda. It's approaching ramadan and companies are not hiring now. Once Eid is finished the recruitment will start again in full force.

Well thx Andee for your decent reply didn't know that my question was that insulting or provocative cool down mate you weren't obliged to read the thread and increase your blood pressure....well I am searching for a job on different sites ,it is just I heard that they have jobs as teachers there ..just to clarify. I didn't ask for anything weird and didn't say I am better than anyone you got my question wrong..U seem stressed so cool down and don't pour it out on me..I am just like anyone else

Where did the original poster say they automatically assumed they'd get a job because they're British?

What a ridiculous and rude reply!

By Andeee• 5 Jul 2010 11:57
Andeee

Why do you automatically assume that because you are British you will get a job... doesnt make you any better than the other millions waiting around for a job.. and as for finding you a job... you need to go out there and slog around like all the rest... no one is gonna call and say "oh yes, is that Mirandahafez...yes we would like to let you know that we have found you a job"....

Get a life

The British Council is not there to find you a job, neither is the Embassy. However the British Council is not useless and in fact does a great job in their field.

I doubt you are British as the British are much more resourceful and would not rely on help of others to find a job, they would get off their backside and do something about it themselves!!

didn't know the British Council ran a placement agency on the side! *wink*!...nah mate,in case no one told you yet, having a British passport is no automatic guarantee for a job & the British Council has NOTHING to do with finding jobs for unemployed British passport holders in the country!...sorry to burst your bubble but you're going to have to do it the same way the rest of us do,put your C.V out online & personally, check on job sites...& pray!!!...

you that BC will find you a job??? if that was the case then every unemployed person would have joined BC.

It is not the job of the British Council to help people find jobs - so yes pretty useless - sorry.

You should try tes.co.uk for educational jobs

To teach in schools here you will need a PGCE and experience with the British Curriculum

You could try but if they are as helpful as the embassy staff it will just be depressing.

If you are a qualified teacher, just hang in there. remember that most schools are expecting quite a decent intake of teachers to arrive in late August and there is usually a dropout rate. Get your cv and letter round all the schools you are interested in just as they open in late August, you will probably be welcomed with open arms.
