Going for Coffee

Hi, Im new here to QL and was wondering what you all thought about this.....

Im very interested in the Qatari culture and reading alot of the posts here has been an eye opener. Does society here allow that I would be able to have a coffee with a Qatari lady and talk about their culture, or would this be frowned upon and are the Qatari ladies afraid to be seen with westerners.

Rizks what matters is that Thea understood what I meant, as for my logic note it isn't necessary for me to clarify what I meant for you; as you are one of them ignorants.

Blaaaahhhh...

You may not like what you get. To understand a culture, you just need to keep your eyes and ears open, and mouth shut. Then you may understand why many have apprehensions about your intentions.

thea in a town full of sexually frustrated people, even an innocent gesture can be interpreted in a negative way

Ok i see what your saying, but from reading the posts from the likes of Superwomen etc, I thought that this was the modern way of thinking and would not be a problem.

"maybe" the intention is good, but first thing you must familiarize yourself with the guidelines of the do's and don'ts here in qatar like Fathima said.

You haven't lived in the middle east too long have you? Careful dude..continue the way you are going & you may very well end up back home faster than you can say "Qatari lady" Go read a good visitors guide on Qatar do's & don'ts, pronto!

thanks for the posting.

firstly, you can learn alot more by talking than by reading a book, its also more pleasureable.

secondly, like I said some of the views here are very interesting are show a different side of the perceived culture.

Be fair, Khattak. The last guy that we labeled a moron and a pervert had already PMed every female on QL asking for a date and then posted several times about how he liked watching women. This guy has a very specific, if odd and far-fetched, request and, so far, I have not received a single PM from this guy.

Good that you are not a South Asian...or by now, you would have been labelled as Moron, Pervert & blah blah blah by other westerners.
