Bad Taste or "Celebrating Life"
I found it uplifting, but you decide for yourselves...
A VIDEO of a family dancing along to Gloria Gaynor hit I Will Survive at Nazi death camps has outraged Holocaust survivors.
The 4min 20sec clip, posted on YouTube, shows the Jewish Korman family boogying at sites including the infamous Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland.
Australian Jane Korman, whose 89-year-old father Adolk - a Holocaust survivor himself - and three children feature in the video, filmed the scenes while on a trip to Europe.
She said: "I wanted to make artwork that creates a fresh interpretation of historical memory.
"It might be disrespectful, but my father is saying, 'We're dancing, we should be dancing, we're celebrating our survival and the generations after me'.
"We are affirming our existence. It is a celebration of life and survival."
^you wishing for another shabra and shatila
some people does know the difference between hallucinating and wishing.
i am wishing for a world where people are not displaced and killed bcoz of some line written thousands of years ago
hapy, are you wishing for the next holocaust?
jpa, thats better than evicting some Palestinian villagers and making a settlement.
if u have a positive mindset then its a celebration of life. they have survived the worst and are alive but if u look at it and re-live the pain and suffering then yes it may be in bad taste. depends on ones outlook...i personally feel its a celebration to have come out of it alive....
God's mercy is amazing. And they have a lot to be grateful for however I guess less fortunate families who may have lost more might feel the pinch.
I think it's perfectly fine, bit corny, but hey, if they want to make a statement, why not?
at least they are doing it in a peaceful way.
