Islamabad: 152 people are on a plane that has crashed near Islambabad in the Margalla Hills. It is an Airblue Airline plane.

Rescue helicopters have reached the crash site. Thick black smoke can be seen rising from that spot.

Pakistani media reports that it's raining very heavily near Islamabad. Thick fog is likely to impede rescue and relief operations.

The plane was on its way from Karachi to Islamabad. It had 146 passengers and 6 crew members.

Fathima, He was a excellent pilot, but what can i say i belong to this community, the conditions at that time, fatigue of the pilots, pilot error, at the time of landing who was flying the aircraft, was it the Captain or the First officer, It is a big question mark.... :(

but if you say this is piolet fault I dont think so i think it is aircraft fault bcz airblue have most of old planes which they got from russia

The info that i have got is that aircraft was cleared to do a bad weather circuit and at islamabad only runway 30 has ils ( instrument landing system ) and 12 does not have it, so this means he was making a visual approach, and at islamabad, in bad weather there is windshear. PIA flight diverted to lahore 20 mins before the airbleu reached islamabad.

The capt pervaiz chaudhry was a retired PIA captain.

By general_disarray• 28 Jul 2010 10:34

The stupid Indians have no sense of safety or concern for themselves. There are virtually NO safety checks on any of their modes of transportation. There are train crashes every week it seems and plane crashes are becoming more frequent. I'm amazed how simple and stupid they are. Maybe it's the gov't not protecting it's citizens by enforcing tougher regulations. Maybe it's paying off people to look the other way when major engineering problems are found.......India and it's neighbors are truly a lesson in Darwinism.
