Barbaric act- Tribal Girl in India

moonblues67
By moonblues67

SURI:(Assam India) A 17-year-old tribalgirl was stripped, beaten and forced to walk nude for 8km across three villages with hundreds of men molesting her all the way and taking videos on their mobiles. It was a shocking reminder of the Guwahati incident in November 2007 when a teenager was stripped and molested by a mob during an ethnic clash. An MMS clipping of the Birbhum girls ordeal is now doing the rounds under the name 'Adibasi girl'. And it is this footage that is finally getting the victim some justice.

According to sources, the girls fault was that she loved a boy from another community. Police were shocked to learn that the panchayats and other local bodies knew of the incident but hadn't bothered to inform the administration. The incident happened four months ago but the girl was too traumatized to go to the authorities. It is only when the administration came to know of the MMS that police swung into action on their own and arrested five of the culprits on Sunday.

Some frames in the video are, too, horrific to watch. The girl has a dazed, dead look on her face as she staggers along dusty dirt tracks. A jeering crowd of tribals follows her, beating drums and thrashing her with sticks whenever she stops. Little boys throw stones at her. She takes the blows, defenceless, as she uses her arms in a futile attempt to protect her honour. Men pounce on her, pull her arms apart and molest her amid laughter as the drums beat up a frenzy.

This torture went on for hours in broad daylight, in the scorching heat of April.

What we can call them Indian taliban.

The solution can be achieved only by knowing the route cause of the problem what we face.

---

As the same issues and worst than this balbaric things in india and other places, we need to know the route cause to find the solution.

As we know india is having ancinet culture and their relegion and also we know very well that the basic thesis of hinduism is supporting VARMA SASTRA. means God Created people with different catogaries like one catogory is born from God's head called themself as high class community where as born from leg is refered as Low class community.

Even our country is developed by so many aspect like technology, scince and some parts are still suffering because of that.

By the way I am banned from the official website of my own caste for my views, I don't think too many of them expect me to marry within my caste so I might avoid honour killing whatever I do :o)

Brit yes it is, even though initially it was to get specialisation of labour which isn't such a bad thing in my opinion but over the years people have modified it to suit their own personal agendas and now it brings out the monster in some people..

Instead of being embarrassed about the plight of this girl, these animals were taking clippings and touching and groping her.. Bloody fcuk, I am getting more and more angry even thinking about this crap.....

Me avoiding honour killings.. I think it will cause a bit of a riot if I choose a wife from some other religion, I should be safe if the wife is from Hindu or Sikh religion even if not from the same caste.

As for horny killings, no comments :D

This has been going on in different parts of India for many years. Some of the reasons identified were illiteracy, superstitious beliefs, ignorance, etc. Many programmes have been implemented to reduce or eradicate such social evils, namely Sati, child marriages, human sacrifice, etc. These are evident mainly in the impoverished rural parts of India.

I don't think it's appropriate to generalise that all the citizens of a country are racists or barbarians. This generalisation that people from a certain tribe or race or social class or country, might behave in a certain way is one of the main reasons for the problem.

How different are we when we blame a whole nation? Isn't that an example of racism or discrimination?

When there was a Hitler killing people, there also existed a Schindler who was saving them.

When we are angry about paedophile priests, we are also happy about people like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale, etc.

We might be able solve every Situation if we isolate them, rather than branding them.

The caste system is a sad affliction on society. As is the mob mentality which causes men who are fathers/brothers themselves to act in this way. What was really appaling is that some men actually groped her and took pictures.

By the way, the best way to avoid honour killing for yourself is to join a monestary.. :O)

edifis I am embarrassed by this incident and as I said ashamed of being an Indian too.

This isn't about east or west and some people should refrain from making it an east-west issue.

By edifis• 9 Aug 2010 12:56
edifis

Lafanga it's not about East or West. The person who ate his grandma wasn't assisted by his whole village and the police didn't turn a blind eye on him. He will surely end up in a psycho ward in a mental asylum or a jail.

But the question is what will happen to these villagers in India. Will they all go to jail!

We should be ashamed of this rather than pointing fingers at others.

This thing is worse than rape or murder, where the culprit is an individual and doesn't reflect the mindset of the entire society. But this, my friend shows how we are. That's WE the people of India.

By Lafanga• 9 Aug 2010 12:43

People don’t understand what woman is if they know the woman completely they don’t even dare to think of doing this kind of acts.

All above she is daughter, sister, wife and finally she devote her self to serve all mankind becoming mother and taking care of her entire family without thinking of her future life when she will enter in to her older age where she need to be taken care of by her children.

By Khanan• 9 Aug 2010 12:26

...yes MOST Indians are simple and low functioning and it's pitiful the things they do in their rotten, lawless country. A true toilet bowl of a country, with barbaric, animals for citizens. This is just 1 small case that is known to happen quite regularly in a country without any real law enforcement worth mentioning. Law enforcement is the most corrupt in the world, arguably, and probably were involved in the molesting of this girl. At best, they condoned it because of some stupid "tribal" thing. There's a reason Indians and their neighbors are the ones being so easily enslaved here in the gulf. Indeed, they're queuing for kilometers to become slaves over here. Your personal opinion of me matters not....hate me for this post, but the fact is im right.

By soniya• 9 Aug 2010 12:15
