I agree Qhris.. fully..

Bondowen.. comparing a game like football to that of cricket is stupidity.. how many countries follow cricket religiously and how many countries follow Football ? Get these facts and you ll know the love for both sports.. Im an Indian and i know what IPL means to India. but when i was travellin to Uk and bermuda durin last IPL, ppl dint even know there such thing called IPL exsits esp in Bermuda but they love football n follow too.. IPL has a long way to reach a stage to that of football and EPL.. my opinion it ll never ever reach.. to get as many viewrship and fame as EPL, its next to Impossible !!! Jus by splashin money to players to take part in IPL doesn mean u can get that fame and viewership..

Cricket will never overtake football, and that is much to my chagrin as well because I like a ton of other sports which I feel deserve a slice of footballs' exposure.

I dislike cricket, but I can see why it does appeal, having friends that like it.

I just know that the football format will never allow cricket to overtake; look at the buzz generated by the last world cup of both sports.

IPL in Indian seems pretty huge...but in the UK it is just a drop in the ocean. Sorry.

Adnaan....IPL just launched few years back....it is not comparable to EPL today....but I am sure the way it is he headed....it could overtake EPL in many more aspects pretty soon.....Asia is the next stop for the next 50 years at least.....I would still watch EPL over IPL....

chk this out

hmmm i jus checked all the transfers of premier league and surprisingly wolves have mad quite a few good ones.. as u said Hunt n steven fletches from burnley a few others.. well IPL must be payin good or whatever.. but plz stop comparing IPL to EPL.. it will never get the viewership EPL has nor it has that bigger charm !!

I watch IPl too but i don feel as happy as when im watchin EPL..

Mr M.

Wolves narrowly missed out bieng relegated last season, but they could do well this season.

With Liverpool's new manager, the team's playing style has changed and is more aggressive,it's great to see Joe Cole in the team,an extremely talented player

I hope Liverpool wins some silverware this season INSHAALLAH.

Sadly maybe never to be awaken...

The gulf in, well, everything, between us and the top 4 is huge, and it only widens... I would hate Wolves to sell their soul a la Manchester City, but aside from that kind of 'plaything' takeover, how else will we compete?

It is kind of depressing, in the sense that I am success motivated in my life, yet with my team I have to accept that 'staying up' and not getting relegated is 'success'.

It is not pessimism, but I wish the Premiership was like....anyone could win it from the opening day.

Reality is, it will be Chelski, Man Utd, Arsenal etc etc...would take a miracle to make some noise in the Prem.

A top 10 finish is what constitutes as a triumph in the 2000's.

Sad.

Wolves the sleeping giants of English football .....

Oddly enough, Wolves are one of the most financially sound clubs in the UK.

I am sure we had some operating debt, but when Morgan bought the club from Haywood, his 30 mil was promised to invest, and he did in shares I believe.

I have heard that we are at 'nil' in terms of operating costs, so our debt is minimal, no running to anyone as far as i hear.

Okay, so our biggest offseason signing was Nicky Hunt from Hull....but at least we stay realistic, and financially stable.

Hopefully Kevin Doyle lights it up again for us this year.

Hey Qhris

I am an Arsenal fan.....but as much I like EPL....i cannot resist to share the fact that EPL stars are of "poor men" sport published in Telegraph.Co.UK .....chk out this link

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/news/7530789/Premiership-stars-are-poor-men-of-sport.html

not sure about the rest of the asians.....with IPL far ahead of EPL in terms of average salary ensures....better viewership to the ppl.....and fair distribution of wealth among the palyers as there is noone making as much as the Rooneys and Terrys and yet average salary exceeds EPL by a little over 1 million pound per year.....

Besides....thanks to Steve Morgan otherwise you would be running to Asia to help with your debts....

I am a Wolves fan.

I was born in Wolverhampton, so clearly I haven't jumped on any 'asian ESPN, team exposure' bangwagon =)
