Hi,
I got my mother in law a visa to visit my baby, she is alone in our home country and she's 59 years old.
she really wants to stay with us and help us take care of my baby since me and my wife have work and there will be a time (every other week )that we work at the same shift.
its hard to entrust our baby to a total stranger and whose not having the same nationionality as we do.
Its sad that she can only visit qatar for only 6 months and has to go back to philippines and wait for another 3 months before going back to Doha.
Question: what kind of visa for my mother in law that would fit our need?
I hope you could help us.
God Bless to Everyone!
Good luck. I know that in UAE you can sponsor your parents on RP for 3 years just like your dependents
that was our mistake,
her income is 4,000 only we never had a chance to ask for that option, if its possible.
she was 8 months preggy and was bearing our child sensitively, when we decided to get her mom a visa,i was the one who has better moblity to take care of the documents for her visa, not knowing it would just cost 3 months of stay in doha...
Thank you Treysdad,
you are right she was given 2months and has extended a month more...the MOI officer at madinath khalifa said we can go another extention every month depending maybe on their mood :)since they can give no garantee... that if she can still be lucky each month, we have to take chances, thats what he says.
Getting a family sponsorship, can she stay here with us in doha for as long as we work in doha?
God speed!
What you need is a Family Visit Visa. Go to the Hukoomi website: http://portal.www.gov.qa
However, since this is your mother-in-law then now you can only get her up to 3 months and not 6 months.
From the site:
Families of sponsored residents may enter Qatar on a short-term Family Visit Visa. The visa is valid for one month. However, relatives who wish to stay beyond one month may undergo a physical examination within the first 72 hours of arrival to apply for an extension.
The visa can be extended to cover a maximum of six months only (five extendable months for immediate family members and two months for second-degree relatives). Foreign employees who wish to bring their families to live in Qatar should refer to the Family Visa.
Can't your wife sponsor her?
