My friend from the Philippines will come over here for a visit, aside from his passport and tourist visa, whatelse he needs to have, does he need to have a certain cash in his pockets to show that he can support himself during his stay here or not really necessary. Please let me know. thanks

I travelled to Doha on a tourist visa three times before I moved here, they never asked any questions - literally open your passport, say hello, stamp and you're through ;o)

Oopss! i am late to reply you back..

But anyways,if you have read the link properly it's written clearly that QR 5000 or equivalent is needed when one applies for TOURIST VISA...

It's always safe to carry extra money to help in times of need and urgency..right??

As a rule, the people coming over here with tourist visa need to carry at least 5000 QAR when they arrive in the country. But I don't think that they are checking the money with everyone that arrives. May be checking randomly. But better be safe than sorry and carry the money.
