Why eat alone?

Colt45
By Colt45

I was at the Thai joint on Al Nasr street having dinner last night, when this completely gorgeous young woman, probably about 5'4", in her 20's comes in, sits herself down and after about 10mins of waiting, orders her meal and starts to eat all by herself :-(

She was dressed in jeans, tee and flips, looked ultra-cool and while waiting on her order, started to read a book. I had half a mind of leaving my table and the people I was with to join her, but I thought it would seem rude and so I didn't ;-)

What bamboozled me was, why she would go and have dinner alone? Is it because it's one of those days where she prefers the "being alone" part of it or is it because she doesn't have friends in Doha, was she stood up? The reason could be anything :-?

I'm just not the type that will go into a restaurant and do dinner by myself, I need to have someone with me. If there is no one available, I would rather "take-out", than sit there alone and have my meal.

Your thoughts!

....whhhooaa... blah..blah..

am i judging you? did i say 'crime'?

do you know the meaning of the word opinion???

well, i dont have problem with a girl dining alone...

and a girl whining and defending her independency..

maybe u can ask colt45... lolzzzzzzzzzzz

just citing my two cents...

By anonymous• 6 Sep 2010 21:49
anonymous

tinker.. i dont think so...

coz once a girl had been in such situation.. she wont be able to take it like that.. to eat alone.. somehow youll experience pity in that sense, like what colt was saying...

a person might opt to dine alone at home than in public...

well not all (like u maybe), but in general...

By anonymous• 6 Sep 2010 21:18
anonymous

you mentioned she was in 20s..

it might be that the girl has not been in serious relationship... that she's too independent to do that... not yet in situation that she go out w bf all the time..lolz

not that she doesnt have friends..

Don't have to make small talk.. Don't have to be careful about what I say..

Well "ME" does not have to be made compulsory. It deopends on the individual to find the time for "ME" time. We are connected to the outside world so much that we lose connection to the core of our being. We all need to stop for a while, find the time to renew that bond.

I would rather go sit on the corniche and have "alone" time than be alone in a restaurant full of people eating ;-)

Maybe she just wanted some time alone ... u'no, sometimes.. the alone thing can do wonders to you after a stressful day..... just doing ur thing at ur own pace... no peer pressure... no worries...

and good that u didn't spoil it for her by intruding her privacy...!!!!
