the response was slow at the start of the thread but with the collection day approcahing it shooted and we crossed our intended limits within no time.

I would also like to thank QRC for providing us the well equpped space for our collection and packing days.

Hello boyz and girlz, sorry for the late reply to the thread as i was busy with my personal work and it really feels good to be sitting in office after four days of running around :)

Thanks to everyone that showed up for the iftar drive as always it was a great experience and really got my year's quota of exercise lifting up heavy bags. Sorry couldnt wait for the iftar dinner and chit chat with everyone but the food looked yummy!

Speed on that note you owe me dinner in some nice Pakistani restaurant...when i get back of course :)

Yes This a QLVG drive not QRC drive. Please leave QRC out of this campaign as it has nothing to do with QRC. I hope Speed can clarify that. We are grateful to QRC for letting us the QLVG volunteers to use their premises.

First of all on behalf of QLVG/ ILQVG Committee members, I would like to say 'THANK YOU' to all of you who donated generously and who came yesterday for packing.

By your support, we have received a great response, initially our target was to reach 1,000 Iftar packets. But yesterday itself we had crossed our target, still we have today (Friday) further people coming to drop off their donations at QRC office.

We are expecting to reach 1,500 packets for the Iftar Drive. (Inshah'Allah).

Note for Volunteers confirmed for Packing and Distribution:

Collection and Packing day:

- Today (Friday, 03.09.2010) is last day for Collection and Packing. Please bring your donations by 9:00PM at QRC office.

Distribution day:

Did you read that part where I posted/said I was with the FIRST AND THE SECOND/LAST Iftar Distribution campaign? I think not.

You just assume that since I didn't confirm with donating anything, I won't show up....that is not nice.

Speed lets not complicate the list, those who are volunteering/packing/distribution etc, we'll make a actual list of those that turn up during packing, coz from past experience people say they are coming and dont turn up and sometimes MORE people turn up, so there's no point really in maintaining such a list. An actual head count can be done on packing and distribution day.

What was important was to see the number of items we need and if our target was met.

Azzy relax there's no need for making accusations, no one was bumped off anything. the list i made is with people who actually confirmed they would come or would be donating. I just saw that your name is in Khanans list and i must have missed the part where you said you'd participate or donate something.......oh wait you didnt did you? On contrary you just said you are "out of this topic" which i assumed meant you weren't taking part.

The idea is good to have that dates as it will save us alot of time ...

Regarding Dates....

Albadr11 has found dates packet in the market. Each packet contains 5 pieces of dates and the packet cost QR. 2 riyals in the market. If we buy in bulk (say 1,000 packets) as per Albadr11 he will be able to get discount of QR 1 riyal.

Instead of everyone buying different kinds of dates. I will strongly recommend you to contact 'albadr11' thru PM. He will guide you where to buy these dates.

I will try to post the photos of the dates packet soon for your information.

Iftar Drive.

We will be distributing 'Iftar Packs' on the streets at the time of breaking the fast.

Each pack will contain following items:

1) Small water bottles

2) Small juice

3) Small packed dates

4) Packed date biscuits - Ma'amoul

5) Wet tissue.

Whoever donate any of the above item, it will be included in the 'Iftar Pack'.

not only from QL but from ILQ, FB, QRC, QC etc... WE ARE VOLUNTEERS.

This Iftar drive is combined efforts of QLVG and ILQVG..... soon you will get good news :-)

Speed is managing both the groups and its a community drive without promoting any website or personal....:)

I have no problems with that...since I was with the first 2 iftar campaigns.

Maybe a re-title to the topic is in order...make it QLVG coz said group started it.

Then on the topic fitself, we could say, in unity with the ILQVG. Putting both group in the title head makes it like promoting another website.

Maybe I'm just fussing about nothing but the MODS do delete or edit anyone posting of another website before...so, is it different now?
