Mother of baby on plane says she was raped ..

A Philippine woman who acknowledged giving birth to a baby on a flight from the Middle East and then leaving him in the trash on the plane said she was raped by her employer, a lawmaker said Thursday.
The baby was found by a security guard at Manila's airport last Sunday in a trash bag unloaded from a Gulf Air flight from Bahrain. The trash apparently came from the plane's bathroom.
Rep. Lani Mercado said she met Thursday with the woman, who told her that she had been raped by her employer while working as a maid in Qatar and became pregnant. She said her employer's wife then forced her to return home, and she managed to hide her pregnancy and board a flight.

It should also be noted that the girl was obviously not in her right mind after all that had happened to her. Who knows what mental state she was in when she was giving birth.

Some of your comments are so selfish and heartless! Do you forget that a local can achieve anything he wants??? When I was 8 months pregnant I had a small belly and with lose clothing nobody could tell I was pregnant! And what is this stupid idea about scanning at the airport, do you really think it scans for pregnancy like a hospital can do?

And labour can be quick and painless! My sister delivered in 5 minutes!

If you don't know what you are talking about, instead of just posting for the sake of posting, keep out of the topic you know nothing about!

Twice you mentioned "employer", first in your title, then on your first paragraph! What is really your position?

Most of the maids (ladies) come to this part of world to make money by hard working or hardly working and they choose the easiest way of having relations with the employer or spending time out with their friends.

Pregnant women not allowed boarding a plane after seven months of pregnancy. How she kept quit for long time and how the employer or his wife kept silent for seven months, why they do not deport her in her early stages. I think the maid must have hide the things in which her employer is not involved directly or in directly.

There was a case in the States of a girl who went to her prom, gave birth in the bathroom, then went back out and kept dancing. No one knew she was pregnant or in labour. It's very possible to hide these things, even on a crowded plane.

If I may tell you how she was not noted to be pregnant by the airport authorities. According to the Philippine news, the woman used a binder (the one women use when after giving birth to prevent the abdominal skin from sagging) and she is a bit on the plus size. Thus, no one thought that she was pregnant. There was also a possibility that she had labour pains while everyone was asleep. The flight from here Bahrain to Manila is almost 10 hours so anything could happen. Also, if her employers allowed her to give birth here in Qatar, the authorities will find out that she does not have a husband here. In the end they will trace that the father might be the male employer. The child in question really looks like one that was fathered by an Arab. One thing you can say about Filipino women is that most of the time the child gets a lot of features from the father. :-)

it's the same thinking she had when she did what she did! Let's wait for the whole story to come out and then we can say what we want to say about this woman. I agree with Snessy, we don't know what kind of life she had with her employer and how long she endure the "inhuman" or "injustices" she suffered (if that is true as per her statement). But for now, let's give her the benefit-of-the-doubt for her "mistakes". And then you can pass your judgment! For me, I'll just wish that she regains her good mind and rectify whatever she did perceived to be wrong!

The court here will probably have said that the statements of the plaintiff were not supported by any tangible evidence or an eyewitness..

I love the way you're assuming she was only raped the once, we have no idea how long it may have been going on for...she is obviously mentally unstable, but who wouldn't be if they had to suffer maybe months of torture?

But if she was raped why didnt she report to the police or the Embassy ?

Something fishy.....?

Was she raped or not she had no any reason to put a new baby in the trash . She could have offered him for adoption or such thing .

Thanks to the DNA tests nowadays one can tell for sure who is the father or at least who is not.

Was she employed in Bahrain or Qatar ?

saeedkhan, we all think tat its a big Sin wat the employeer has done but the employer think its not and he had a good time...:(

saeed, you know well that it's quite common in these Gulf Countries. Only a DNA test could prove that the Qatari is the father. I doubt that they will do that on him.

Cool, and he will get away with it. What an abstruse country this is.
