Does anybody knows how beers served at Doha Golf Club during Golf events without any restrictions.

Yes beer plays an important factor in the WC, especially for the fans, without which, the cheering gets dull.

The bidding committee have recognized that and have promised fan zones where alcohol will be served.

"The one-eyed man is king amongst the blind" and thanks for defending our nation in whole.

Till this place have so many blinds, all one eyed would continue to be KING.....atleast we could guide and save blinds in facing major accidents.

If boos are so important then not only Qatar but the whole GCC should back out from organising any world cup events IMHO.

@ ex.ex.expat...some serious insecurity on display there eh mate?! :)...as much as i'm ashamed of that category of people, being from the same continent in question myself,it's job security more so than living vicariously,because a LOT of them,recruiters wouldn't touch with a pole back home(I speak for my country here,not the whole continent),in fact no where else apart from here in the GCC where sucking up & kissing a#$ is usually enough...the one-eyed man is king amongst the blind & all,you get my drift! *wink*!

Funniest thing to me is that it is very rarely the Qataris who are promoting these events and acting as the self-appointed cheerleaders for them. It is the population from a certain continent that must be living vicariously through Qataris or are concerned about their job security ;)

should have capitalise on the Success Stories of "Doha Asian Games", its volunteers management and shall work more strongly in similar directions :)

The Qatar Olympic Organising Committee should not have waited till 2010; they should have continuously work hard to organise more popular Regional / International sporting Events.

Technology is always at its BEST, need sincere efforts to mass awareness, utilise online support and guide for tourists, media and communication, sport participants, sell of tickets, routes maps to stadia, hotels, sports village, Airport facility, FAQ, etc, etc.

Is Lager / beer, the only way of celebration?

What success stories from the Asian Games? The empty stadiums or the fact that half the facilities weren't finished yet? If I were Qatar I would steer clear of mentioning the Asian Games.

Sorry, we need to fill the stadia.. So segregation by gender will be the oder of the day during the WC..

and able managers, operators and dedicated skilled technicians to manage, operate and fix that techonolgy are the key...

There will be segregation inside the stadia.. Families one stand, single women seperate stand and single men with binoculars in another area..

U want airconditioned stadiums build one for the local people to show the world what you have

The sport is not well promoted in the country for the xpat population

Technology is important, but not the key. The main issue is to provide "adequate" venues / facilities for the games and the visitors. This means careful planning and logistics to manage the whole show.

and lets not forget Women the ratio of men to women is 5:1

You dont let women wear what the want because of your culture

Chances of Qatar winning would be high

However i dont think they would make it no matter what people say everyone has an idea about the middle east

1. No alcohol

2. really Hot!

3. Lack of infrastructure

4. Secutity

5. Transport

A world Cup may never happen in the middle east for the reason you cant have Fun here ...

It may be a rich country but the culture would not be something people like around here

@ ictQatar,ANY technology can be bought for the right price & Qatar currently has a seemingly bottomless pit of capital thanks to wealth generated from oil & gas revenues...so i for one,have no doubt that if Qatar do win the bid,they will spare no expense to get the best that money can buy in terms of technology,be it cooling the stadiums or television coverage & everything in between...

What is REALLY needed is a change in mentality...how will the closed tightly-knit Qatari community be ok with hundreds of thousands of football fans,many of whom would be women, many wearing very little considering the 50 degree heat @ that time of year & shirtless men walking around Doha city consuming copious amounts of lager & laughing,shouting,dancing & singing in the streets?...

Any "technology" you can suggest for that?...

If the communication technology is the same as for the WC from South Africa then it is not good enough. Remember the black screens "served" by the sole distributor Al Jazeera?

We are talking about cooling the (inside). But, how about the outside summer tempretaure? How is that issue being addressed?

So long as they have the technology to serve 1000s of thirsty fans a cold beer there should be no problem :o)

If technology can change the weather here, the better.
