Liverpool Football Clubs Saved

Tom Hicks and George Gillett have failed in their High Court attempt to wrest back control of Liverpool.

The unpopular American co-owners had tried to oust the boardroom rivals that had sanctioned the sale of the club to New England Sports Ventures (NESV).

But Mr Justice Floyd ruled they did not have the power to do so.

The decision means the sale to NESV can proceed, although club chairman Martin Broughton hinted rival bids may now be considered at a meeting on Wednesday.

"I am absolutely elated, it's a very important day for our club," said Broughton as he left the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

"This will clear the way for the sale, we will have a board meeting this evening and proceed with the sale.

@ britexpat,Goodison Park is a little training ground compared to Anfield mate!...They need something BIGGER & GRANDER than Anfield to accommodate even more fans so in terms of that, they do need a new stadium but sharing Goodison Park with Everton is hardly the solution to that!...

Ground share with the blue noses? Never!!!!

MON nah?? Rijkaard.. perhaps..

Qatar Investment Authority should have bought LFC, with the Qatar 2020 sponsorship logo on the shirt... sigh, I can only dream.

The answer is simple..

Find a buyer who actually knows something about football and has a passion for the game.

Then appoint Martin Oniel as manager.

Then ground share with Everton.....

We have to be realistic as Liverpool fans, there isn't going to be any silverware at least for the next few seasons...silverware can't be won with one almost always injured world-class striker & one Captain Extraordinaire,we need more depth & for that we need more funds to buy quality players so we're looking @ a few seasons in the wilderness, that's for sure but we need owners that will first & foremost pump some much needed funds into the club coffers,so Hodgson can buy some quality players without worrying about the bank balance...This is the greatest club in English football history, that history can never be taken away, surely many world class players would love to play for the team if the price is right...

What we need is a buyer who actually calls the game football NOT soccer...& that's just for starters...i personally don't know how good an idea it is to go from one American owner to another...all i know is that it's plain shameful that the greatest club in English football has been reduced to this...i'm too upset to say anything more...i wish Sh.Mansoor chose to buy LFC over Man. City, wishful thinking!...

"The lawsuit also seeks temporary and permanent injunctions, and damages totalling approximately $1.6 billion (more than £1 billion)."

It's a strange world..

What a farce, its like watching a Dutch Auction! Obviously they are trying to buy because they have always been fans, and not just because its available for dirt-cheap. lol

This is the funny thing - NONE!

However, since the new owners are American, they don't want to cause any issues and are going along.

I think that it would be better for Liverpool to go with the alterative bid and forget about John Henry.

This is going to be interesting, but with the new owners coming in,having already had suscess in the US,i think the board, chairman and the fans will be optimistic.
