A Huge appreciation towards the organisors. Great Job. Keep it Up. Should be at least 2 a year.
The evening was excellent for all Dog Lovers, including but mnot limited to the young kids.
So many Dogs awaiting for adoption. People must come forward.

Yes, I read the post. Unfortunately, I've been in this part of the world to have the attitude of while hoping that it will come to fruition soon, not being in the least surprised if it takes a long time and does not meet minimal international standards when it does.
I sincerely hope the Qatari authorities prove me wrong
Mary..there is a new shelter being built by the government. See my posting
when you visit the QAWS shelter, please be careful to avoid stepping on animal faeces lying around...and oh, do carry a big bottle of hand sanitiser/disinfectant, a change of dress, etc. Avoid bringing little kids as there's a risk of catching the flu...
and keep smiling, the sun is shining!
Please do not detract from our event with critisism......
This post is related to a fund raising event to help us continue to provide for these un-fortunate strays. Monthly running costs are currently in excess of QR 25,000. With no funding from authorities we function purely through community support.
If you wish to discuss your concerns after your visit please come again, ask for me and I will address your points.
Cleaning regimes are in place, ambience is a difficult one to address (suggestions welcome)and we are over-whelmed every weekend with the numbers of visitors and supporters........
QLFan, as you are Qatari, perhaps you could help improve the situation by assisting in finding someone who would be willing to provide land in a suitable location with perhaps a 99 year lease (as is often seen in the UK) at a nominal amount so that an optimal facility could be built? Maybe too, you have some influence to help establish a Qatari Animal Welfare Association similar to the RSPCA or ASPCA?
Don't want to criticize - you were generous to come and visit (many don't)and I have no idea what you do to support animal welfare in Qatar - but it is also important to understand that there are obstacles to being able to provide state of the art animal rescue care facilities here in Qatar. People are doing the best they can with the resources that are available.
Is there any way you or someone you know might be able to help - for example getting charity status would help the people at QAWS immensely. I know it would be appreciated whole heartedly by both the animal and the rescue community.
Visited two weeks ago with kids. Pets need more hygiene ambience & of course visitors too.
dog show... Do come down and join the fun:-)
