i asked permission to my employer verbally that ill be resigning because i have an offer out of the country.my contract is done and i didnt sign anything from him anymore though im still working for him.ill be submitting my formal resignation letter this coming saturday with one month notice and i know that he will not accept it as what he have done when i verbally asked permission from him.
question?:
1.does he have the right to stop me from leaving?
2.a lot of people saying that i can ask the labor dept, do they act fast?
3.is it easy to go to the labor dept and ask help? is there any procedures to follow to ask for help at the labor dept?

please anybody help me, im so afraid and ont know what to do anymore.maybe you can suggest somebody to i can legally talk to.thank you.

the worst thing that your present employer can do to you is to delay your departure... the problem is, do you think your next employer is willing to wait until your present employer releases you? what if the requirement is very urgent? in the end you will be losing both jobs.. your present and the other one... it would have been better if you request for emergency leave without telling your boss the real reason why you are leaving.. white lie works in this situation...but i guess it's too late for you to do that... nevertheless you are entitled to submit your resignation one month in advance.. just hope and pray that your employer grants your request on time... remember we are not slaves here.. so we have the right to leave anytime we want to as long as we tender our resignation at least 1 month in advance as per normal practice.. good luck!

No body can stop you once you prepared ur mind to leave.

1. employer doesnt have any right to stop you

2. You can ask help with the labour dept , 100 percent they will help you

3. You can kick on the A** of your boss or any seniour management guy, so you dnt need to put up ur efforts to go for the labour dept.

4. keep a e conversation for the same as a proof.

All the best and very best wishes...

Then just stop going to work. Eventually he'll get the message and terminate you.

Go as per you appointment letter, resign and serve your notice period as well, no one will stops you, they can only request you to change your mind with increased facilities and salaries but no one can stop you legally, but when u resign make sure that someone receives your resignation letter ( authorised person) so from that date your notice period will start.
