The most famous name in English football is the target for the next wave of Arab invaders.

Across Manchester arch-rivals City are already owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group, led by billionaire Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Now Qatar Holdings, an investment vehicle for the Qatari royal family, are pursuing the £1.5billion takeover of Manchester United. The Gulf state of Qatar has already landed the right to stage the 2022 World Cup finals in an audacious international coup.

The Qataris have also accumulated a huge range of trophy assets in England.

Sir Alex is a shrewd buyer when it comes to bringing in new players to Old Trafford.Unlike in the few previous years when he 'globe scouting' and brought in players like Van Nistelrooy,Ronaldo and Nani.Still does it but to a lower extent.I am sure when the money is available. They could make this business investment and inject much needed financing into this club.

Can't see that happening WK given Utd's performance so far and Sir Alex's record and rep. Will be great to see the 2 Man clubs duking it out in the transfer mkt, but as you say Sir Alex doesn't waste money in the mkt and usually buys well.

There won't be any transfer war as long as Fergie is there and I don't think he is ready to quit yet.

What if the new owners fire Sir Alex, that will be interesting :-P

There will be no transfer war.. Fergie is too shrewd for that. the good thing will be that Man U will not have to worry about debt payments..

Inshalllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaah!

The Glazers are very unpopular with Manchester United fans. This could only be a good move. I am sure Sir Alex would like this :)

MANU OF ALL CLUBS????????NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

But if u want to be well known in the football world, i suppose its one of the best option!!!

If the deals go thru, one expect a transfer war between Man City and ManU....
