Urgent hunt for apartment...VERY confused!
By chocaholic •
Hello helpful people at Qatar Living! :)
We just moved here 3 days ago, and are looking to move into a flat ASAP. Something between the City Centre mall (roughly) and the Sports Roundabout area. The grand confusion is that all the listings I'm trying to browse have names (of areas) that I don't recognise.
Being brand-new here and still disorientated, and not knowing many people yet, doesn't help, of course :)
Could anyone tell me which specific areas I should be looking for? Also, is QR 7,000-7,500 enough for a 2 bedroom apartment in these areas?
Your help is much needed and would be much-appreciated!!!
Thanks ever so much!
Thanks a million for tghe suggestions and tips. So Lulu near Al Sadd seems to be the anointed location :) I did take a taxi out to the area behind Kia today and poked around a bit. Nothing of note yet, but I still have hopes.
Azamat, thanks for the link - will virtualy explore a bit now :)
Vennela, I'm looking for a fully-furnished place, but thanks anyway!
Hi,
I have a 2BHK FLAT - Directly from owner of the Flat, semi-furnished with - Split A/C's, 5burner Gas Cooking Range, 480Ltr.Fridge, Fully Automatic Washing Machine, in a new Building..at Al-Mansoura...near C-Ring, Doha Cinema... CONTACT : Mobile : 66753755 / 77826390
Confused with area names? Look up wikimapia.com. All localities are named there.
For eg: try this link -
http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=25.2725243&lon=51.5118885&z=15&l=0&m=b
Move your mouse over the map until a whole block gets highlighted and the name of the block appears.
make sure you tell them Lulu Al Saad area/opposite Hamad hospital... there are 3 Lulu's in Doha, and the one near the Airport is biggest and most well known:-)
There are lots of apartments near Sports Roundabout and before the Al Sadd intersection. Suggest you get a taxi to the Grand Regency Hotel (at Sports Roundabout) and just head into that neighbourhood and collect the phone numbers on outside signs or ask the watchmen at buildings that look good to you (not all buildings with vacancies will have signs).
Good luck
I am also looking for a nice location to rent. How is the traffic in the AM from there to Al Mater St? Thanks!

That's a nice, clear landmark! I'm going to get a taxi out to Lulu now! :)
I will give them a ring...gosh, I really hope it works out.
Thanks, I'll look them up.
bin mahmoud apartment near the centre mall
Chocaholic, the Al Sadd area is your best bet for your budget. Also, most flats within the Al Sadd area are within walking distance from stores, restaurants, etc.
I live in the Al Sadd area myself and i love it there. If you go behind the Kia car dealership (right next to Lulu), you will find very nice apartments within your price range.
try this number for apartment Mr younas 55805643 basic apts two three beds central but some noise from building site near centre mall
you should contact Al asmakh real estate or al emadi real estate guys. they will get you an apartment in the location you want. your budget is good enough for them.
So is Al-Sadd a good place to live? And how far is it from the central district?
I'm concerned about area because, at least initially, I cannot get a driving licence here. I'm told I have to wait to be a resident.
Try Al-Sadd ... you will definitely find something in that range.
Chadqa, I do think that the West Bay area is a little out of my league, with a budget of 7k! :( I would love to live there, though :)
Try in Alfardan Residential Tower or in westbay area.
