What is truth?
This was written 2 years ago in a different part of the world but experience reminds us that history still repeats itself.
"We live in a global community with many diverse groups such as feminists, gays, pro-choice advocates, pro-life advocates, conservatives, liberals, and various other groups, both religious and non-religious. These various groups are frequently at loggerheads with each another and most times, there is a breakdown in communication, largely attributed to the lack of a common frame of reference in views about what constitutes truth.
I have heard this said before, that "there are 3 sides to an argument-your side, my side and the actual truth."
Individuals with strong opinions insist that their view of the truth is reality, no two ways about it. But truth is a matter of perspective and it's subjective, depending on the chosen frame of reference, isn't it?
If this is so, then why are these individuals driven to try to change other people's views to conform with theirs and reject or put down those who do not? Intolerance and inflexibility? What are the barriers to tolerance - pride and arrogance?"
but the problem is in agreeing! So the truth remains but agreeing about it's truthfulness is the one in question!

britexpat said Timebandit... You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at QL dinner parties"
Deep down in what places? :P
LP, "Truth is a disguise" - very apt as it's so fudged, everybody gets confused :P
Truth is an Ugly Biatch that no body wants.
The Truth is out there... somewhere ...lol
Truth is the perfect disguise.
A lack of exposure,an open mind, unawareness & an inability to deal with an opinion that is different from one's own...hey that sounds like a lot of people in this town! *wink*!...
The lack of an ability to say "i don't accept your opinion but i respect your right to have your own opinion."...
What?
You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at QL dinner parties,
You can't handle the truth
Most of the time we see what we want to see and hear what we want to hear.
We tell ourselves that we are mature and willing to learn / adapt, but yet we continue with our pre-concieved ideas.
There will always be differences of opinion, but we must learn to open our eyes and ears a little more.
This attitude arises when a person is amazed with his own self, thinks highly of himself, and thinks he is better than other.
'Well educated' ppl dont force their opinions on others, those who do actually cant 'let their ego down' by bowing down their heads infront of the truth expressed by the oponents
