Just would like to share this take the original license to Karwa training centre along with other papers they will help you no need for any other formalities.

the driving license of which country can be exchanged to Qatar's? I hve a chinese driving license, can i exchange it to Qatar's? What should i do to get one in Qatar, Thank you very much.
The abovementioned requirements that I have given are the latest as per Traffic Department ...CR is the computer number of your company it is where the specimen signature of the sponsors are shown, different from the NOC.
I had my UAE driver's license changed to Qatar's and all that was required were an eye test and a certain amount (cant remember how much) but that was in 2002. Rule may have changed, not really sure.
All you have to do is to complete all your requirements :
- Sponsor Letter
- CR copy of company
- Eye test for driving lesson
- copy of Qatar ID
- copy of valid saudi license / original license
Present the abovementioned documents to Madinat Khalifa traffic department and pay QR 250. You can transfer your saudi license without taking the test.
..was that from your own experience, festo2..?..i read it somewhere that there's no need for any test for any GCC License holder..but am still reading other views..hope posters give more from first-hand experiences...
if u had KSA Drving Licen... then u will be in need for a letter from ur Co. of no objection letter to have Qatari One..... and u will change it to Qatari in the same moment with no tests :)
eye test is as simple over here, and all you have to read alphabets in rows to be asked by the doctor. then afterwards he only judge how clear ur eye-sight is & put his remarks :)
you have to go main traffic dept. khalifah town south near by immigration dept. & gharaffah interchange.
Where to get this eye test? And what do they test with the eyes - i mean, if you need glasses and if you're wearing the correct one or is the test for red-green color test? they don't have any of those in Saudi Arabia, i think...
bring it to traffic department with xerox copy of your visa and eye test result.they will give you qatar driver's license in exchange and of course you have to pay certain amount.

is your license written in English? If not, then you have to go to any accredited translator (there is 1 in Sofitel) can have the following options :
1. Go to Traffic Dept. for the approval of your license with all the requirements should you wish to take the direct test without any training.
2. Go to Traffic Dept. for approval of license so you can take the short course or half course.

Eye test where the visual acuity is measured... just inform the optical shop that you want to have your eye test required by the Traffic Dept.
..what sort of eye test..?..a simple check for a need to wear an eyeglass..?..or a color-blindness test or something complicated like that..?
