Duration of Stay for Work Visa

Hi,

Im a first timer expat and about to work to Doha,Qatar as engineer jr this coming February 2 and hired by one agency here in Phils. After I reviewed my contract and other documents today I noticed on my visa that the duration of stay is 3 months only, type of visa is work and my 2years contract says that there is a 6months probationary period. Is this the right duration of stay should be when the type of visa is work? What will the company do before the visa will expire? I remember in e-services of MOI the purpose of visa is visit and type of visa is work, should the purpose of visa be employment? Please help me I'm so confused. I just want to get some ideas here before I ask them.

Thanks in advance,
jeff

I wonder why you needed to go through the medical check up in the Philippines when your visa is just a business visa. Usually, medical check up is done only when you have working visa and your agency should have arranged working visa for you.. but i suggest you read some threads here regarding business visas coz i believe that the bureau of immigration in the Philippines has a new rule for business visas.

Good luck!

shettyps, BluVander, and Ryan Gabriel thanks guys. You makes it clear now.

@BluVander: the company sponsored me the visa and its plane ticket. And paid only for medical, authentications, other personal docs and processing fee (for agency).

Walang problema yan.

You probably have a business visa now. When you come here, your company will get u a working visa that is if they are satisfied with your performance. Otherwise they will let you go home after your business visa expires which is after three months. But that rarely happens so don't worry about it. ;-)

did your company get you the visa? or did you pay for it?

Once you enter the country (its same for all) ..you have to undergo medical test and Finger prints etc..then u will get your work visa for next term ..your employer will take care of everything... They won't issue work visa for 1 / 2 year until u undergo all procedures in qatar

PURPOSE OF VISA: VISIT
