UAE visa on arrival and FlyDubai
By Translator •
Anyone used airline FlyDubai to travel to the UAE without advanced entry visa. I am asking to know if that airline allows you boarding their planes when you expect to get on arrival visa. Emirates allow such thing as they check your profession and Qatari RP.
PS. In addition to my above post - Your passport needs to be valid atleast 6 months or more .
Fly dubai, strictly follows the rules as laid down in the immigration system , Emirates on the other hand, will make you fill up a Form of Indemnity , if they have a doubt abt your profession, provided you hold a return ticket on Emrates only.
However in your case 'Translator', I see that you are a US national, hence regardless of your GCC status , you will get a visa on arrival in the UAE , so have a nice flight.
I have travelled by Fly Dubai on visa on arrival on an Engineer's visa. So it can definitely be done, no issues, provided you have sufficient validity of Qatar Resident permit (3 months is what I hear).
My colleague flew with Fly Dubai last week to Dubai and he get visa on arrival. He was allowed to board after they got an Arabic speaking person to check his profession at the check-in counter here in Doha.
This is a rip off, airlines charge almost the same cost for issuing the visa as they charge for the air ticket. I am 101% sure that I can get a visa upon arrival. No wonder they moved the visa service away from embassy to travel agents, they want to juice out more money from travelers. Travelling with a family can add up a hefty unnecessary cost.
Galloper is right. FlyDubai will not board on arrival visa passengers. They will board only passengers having Residence Permit of UAE or those who have pre issued visa.

Most importantly call the airline in advance to confirm if you think that you qualify to get visa on arrival.
To my knowledge and based on experiences from some friends you need visa in advance with FlyDubai.
Anyways, why not contacting the airline and ask them, that way you will secure first hand information directly from the airliner.
Also check in their webpage for additional info on Visas
