Do u have any info about Walden university?I am planing to study there.Do u know any body who got on-line degree and got a good job? What do u think about on-line degree? What other world recognized universities do you know, who provides on-line degree?Thank you for all your info
Online degree is good to be ONLINE... not to be brought off line :-) I hope you got it. please dont mix the open university to the online degree, these are different coming with its own credentials.
I have a masters degree from Walden and it does not mention online learning on it. Walden is a fully accredited school in the US and is not a diploma mill. I have an Ivy league undergrad degree, and I think that also lends my masters degree credibility.
Comparing my two experiences, I conclude that you get out of your education what you put into it. Online learning takes more initiative and self discipline, and more hard skills in writing and reading than in class work. However, it is harder to make connections online that lead to jobs later, and I found math classes in particular harder to do online, as I learn math by watching someone do the problem step by step.
Finally, Cost: you can't get teaching assistanceships in online programs. My masters degree cost about $25,000.
On my Masters award and the other certificate that I got from studying online, no where does it say that it was an online degree or award as the university classes it as the same as their campus awards. It is a normal university award.
I think that you need to make sure that the final certificate, degree, award, etc that you will be getting from the university does not say online on it at all. i have head of this problem also in the UAE when it mentions online in the certificate.
I would love to continue my studies online. there are many unaccredited online universities so make sure you choose a recognized one.
However Qatar isn't attesting online diplomas/degrees anymore. I recently tried and get my high school diploma attested by the Qatar embassy in Washington but i was told they are not going to stamp it because it was done online.
Australia has a few great online universities that offer degrees online. University of Newcastle & USQ offer the same award for their online degrees as they would for an in-house degree. I've done 2 degrees online & the amount of reading, online forum interaction, assignments, tests & group work, in a good online university, is quite demanding.
The degree opens up new opportunities that would not otherwise have been open to you.
Go through a reputable university and it will be considered a bone fide degree......some are dodgy and not recognised.....but then even when studied face to face some degree standards are not worth the paper they're written on!!
Not true Open University qualifications and other reputable distance learning unis are valued in the UK. HR departments respect the fact that you worked and studied.
since there are many degree mills floating around that can offer online degree of dubious reputation, then the idea of online degrees is considered less favourably.
ask yourself what you think is better communicating online with tutor or communicating face to face with tutor.

On-line degree‘s credential value is doubtful but one can continue learning by it for self knowledge and satisfaction

No sorry - it depends on where you studied not how.
Mine (MA) and many others are attested.
i think its difficult to get attested the online degrees in qatar.
Walden is not considered reputable. Reputable schools may offer on-line degrees, on-line only schools are rarely reputable.
