Looking to find serious chess players - any ages/background/nationalities

Anyone want to meet - for playing, studying, preparing for tournaments etc.

I am an experienced FIDE rated chess player and coach - I have sets/clocks/over 800 ebooks etc -

I have lived in Qatar (Al Khor) for 6 months...Qatar chess scene is invisible or old news (Qatar Chess Fed...nothing...)... where are the serious players?

The thing is there is a lot of space for chess to be developed in Doha. Its nice to see a public place where chess players are playing continuously..

Chess will develop only if we are playing..

I am not FIDE rated but I love the game and won't mind playing with you if you need a partner. You will kick my arse first few times but it will get closer as I shake off the rust

I think expats here could hardly manage to spare time for a game like chess. Locals might find it interesting if ur message gets across to them. For them Time! not a problem :). If you are really serious about finding all those people then, I think, a classified ad in an Arabic local daily could do the trick.

Hi seventh time,

Thanks - but not interested in online play - want to meet real players here in Qatar. Do you play? Have a FIDE rating? Let me know...

Hi King_Albert

Thanks for the suggestion - but I'm not looking for school or coaching roles...

I'm more interested in meeting serious chess players who enjoy playing the game and the challenge of self-improvement...as well as the social element of course.

I suppose around half-a-dozen players who want to meet on a weekly basis would be the ideal

any takers?
