I will be moving to Qatar from UAE by end of Feb.I wanted to take my 3 year old car.
Problems i am facing are
1.I got qatar visa but RP will be stamped may be by April End.i will be arriving doha in Feb.
2.I got only UAE license.
3.As i am cancelling my UAE visa,I have to transfer my car to someone else name in UAE.

Whether i can import a car under someone else registration in UAE (Original bills are under my name)for my personal use in Qatar?
Whether i can import car with UAE license?or i have to get Qatar license first?
Whether RP is required to import car?

I brought an eight year old car from the US in 2007. First, they said 'No', after three months they said 'OK'. Only Allah knows what will happen!

I AM TELLING YOU MY EXPERIENCE,YOU CAN NOT HAVE A QATARI PLATE WHEN YOU BRING A CAR LESS THAN FIVE YEARS OLD AS AN IMPORT CAR, THE SAME AS BRINGING A CAR FROM OUT OF QATAR,YOU BETTER ASK THE CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT FROM THE PORT AREA OR ANY SHIPPING COMPANY (IMPORT -EXPORT)

That the car has to be less than five years old?

Today, I rang the Ministry of Interior Traffic Dept and asked how old a car has to be. I have a 2001 car and want to bring it with me from Saudi to Qatar - the guy it was no problem.

put your stuff in your car and drive here to qatar and when you arrive to borders they will give you enough time to transfer the uae plates to qatari plates as long as the car less than 5 years old

so simple, when you get your rp start doing the transfer, you will pay customs 5% of the car value, and plates 200 qr
