Muslim Expats from the West - Sisters, only
As-salaamu alaykum!
My husband and I have just moved to Doha from NY, and I was wondering if there is a Muslim Sisters Group in Doha yet.
I'm specifically looking to set up a Muslim Sisters Group to have halaqahs/study Islam, make friends, etc. While there already seem to be groups by ethnicity, I'm looking more generally for Muslimahs from the West. I know there's a wonderful sisters halaqah given by Sr. Faridah on some Thursdays at Sr. Rachel's, which I highly recommend, but other than that, not sure what else there is besides the Centers (Markaz Maryam, Fanar, etc), which I already attend.
If you're interested in starting something up OR if you know of something like this already going on in Doha, please let me know.
Jazaakum Allahu khayran,
Sofia
Please check your PM.

I am currently living in Germany and will be moving to Doha soon with my husband and child. I would also be really interested in a Muslim expat group like that because both my husband and I are converts to Islam and here in Germany Muslims tend to segregate into their ethnic groups, and it can be difficult to fit in because of cultural issues when you are Muslim but have a very Western background. I sent you a PM too.
Thank you for the info. Still looking for a more "American' Muslim Expats group for sisters...
