Xbox Live isn't officially supported in Qatar, apparently they are not planning to support it in the near future. So no XBL = no Netflix (in UAE and KSA it is supported).

Don't try to use a proxy, you will be banned in 24 hours...

Regarding the power, don't worry, my Xbox one (120V) is still working fine..

@Sardines40  check your xbox live connection and see if the NAT type is strict or openfrom the dashboard, select wifi/internet connection and test xbox live..it will tell you if your NAT type is OPEN or STRICT..you wont find any gamers or find very few gamers in STRICT mode

it says that they are no potential games found in every game modewhile at the same time a friend of mine is playing in the USthis question has nothing to do with the market place

I was able to get xbox live membership and everything using an American address

But when I tried to play Mw2 live, I was trying to stream for a game but I couldn't find any. What's up with that?

I was thinking it may be because i got a Qatari card, but the card is from the US so it doesn't seem like that's the problem

Its the modification that may lead you to a ban, will clarify this again ;)

I guess what he's trying to say is, once the xbox has been modified, the warranty (i think 1 year,, for repair or replacement) will be void.

Warranty has nothing to do with ban.

Warranty is lost anyhow when you open your console

The warranty sticker tears off.

Getting banned is possible If the Modification files are old and u try playing games online.

So here's what u need to know if u mod ur console.

1. Update to the latest dashboard. (2.0.13599)

2. Mod with the latest CFW ( ixtreme LT + 1.91)

If u did both then u r 100% secure.

Ur friend has just the rough idea. That why he don't know exactly what he's talking about.

I just heard this from my friend, who works for xbox before, any modification made in your xbox (whether latest version or not) the warranty will be void, and may be subjected to a permannent ban.

If u make sure u r running the latest mod on the console then you r secure. If you update your console dashboard without running the latest mod then the console gets flagged(marked for ban) and gradually gets banned.

So this is where people make mistake.

I mean, can modify without getting permanently banned, modification is one of the reason for a permanent ban in xbox.

If you mod your xbox360 with the latest CFW LT+1.91(latest)

Then you have no chance of getting blacklisted or banned :-)

If you mod your xbox, the warranty will be void, and you will not be getting tech support :( and it might be blacklisted, if it happens, you can only play offline games but will never go live.

If you mod your xbox u end up saving a lot. 1 Original game cost 200+

And u can buy the same game for 20 riyals If ur console is modded.

so that is the advantage.

U can play xbox live in Qatar with no problem.

For best performance u need 2mb or higher speed.

If im not mistaken, you cannot play live outside US or UK, especially if you are using pre paid account., you can only play offline games but not live as it is not supported.

U can use Netflix in Qatar with an xbox360.

Just create a Netflix account from their official website.

U will need to us ip bypassers like hotspotshield.. Etc..

And then use that account in xbox360s Netflix application.

U can create and play Xbox live in Qatar.

U will first need to create an account using an American or a British address.

U can download and burn xbox360 games to dual layers DVDs.

Not blue ray disks. Xbox 360 does not support blur ray disks.

The Best DVDs for this purpose are Imation 8.5 Dual layer DVDs. 5 riyals per DVD.

or Hulu that are region restricted ,US only sites, you need to access the internet via  a US based proxy that assigns your PC a US based I.P address.Si Its as if you are sitting in the US. I'm not a techie but have been trying to figure out how best to access Netflix.Apparenly there are  internet based ISP companies that provide proxy access via VPN for a annual fee ( $87 at one place) which isnt too bad. You still a fast connection. THe only thing is your connection is been routed via a VPN tunnel (correct me if I'm wrong here) and isnt supposed to impact bandwidth negatively ( atleast not too much anyways..)Hope this helps. BTW - I just picked up both the Xbox 4gb Kinect and the Wii here in the US and realized the power brick issue. I will be able to get one in Qatar that has the local pin/connector right ? Let a brother know.

also, you cannot download some game demos and add-on packs from Qatar..recently i tried downloading the new Call of Duty Escalation Map Pack but got region error :(

Go to Virgin and buy an XBOX gold live card, play n do whatever you want.

Yeah go for it, the converter would not be an issue at all.

I keep saying is much better to convert from 220 to 120, so yeah... do it! :)

My son has the 'slim' X-box and wireless internet access. He has a pre paid 'live' disk. Can he go live here without an English credit card setting it up? We do not have an English Bank account and X-box keeps refusing our HSBC account.

Any ideas; he is desperate to go live with his cousins back in Irelans and the UK.

Xbox live works well,no issues in that.type in any US address to setup an account and you are good to go.

However netflix ,zune,and radio channels does not work.Msg appears that its not available in your region.I have tried it a lot of times,but no luck.

You can download demo games,demo videos and its so easy if your internet connection is good.

Over heating problems have gone down a lot compared to 2 years back.Other issue is the red ring of death.The solution is avoid playing for too long.Take and give breaks to the console.

I would suggest you to get the new xbox slim as its got more cool down options coz of its grill designs and built in wi-fi and easy kinect compatibility.

If you decide to modd,there are guys who does it in doha,but beware certain versions of modding can get you banned from playing live.

zeeshan for xboz u need blue layer disk ..its just liek a cd..u can write the downloaded game on blue layer disk

for PS2 and PS3 normal cd or dvd can write and play

amzyvista my brother also try kinect in which body control the movement of charater in game..its fantastic..

kikifl if u wanna try the xbox game and kinet of xbox just visit to jarrir bookstore..i have seen kids playing kinect there.

1 step that will make your life eaiser is to setup your Xbox account as USA Account , just type in any Adress in the US and you can after that download , stream an do all other stuff that are allowed for teh States .

Same thing goes with PS3 , just create a US Account .

as for Xbox Live cards ( Platinum Members ) there are several sites selling US Refill cards .

thanks for the feedback, on the fence now since Bthomas can't stream the movies. Does the modded version allow for netflix streaming? Actually, what is the modded version blue_rose? what does that do?

my brother has Xbox n its working totally fine..

we can also download games and copy that into Cd and it works fine..i dont know abt live connections? never tried so far

however if u are buying.. buy the moded version.

there is one game named Blur in xbox its fantastic game
