Change of work sponsor

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice regarding a change of sponsor.

Last Friday I accepted a job offer for a 2 year contract working on the NDIA project (working as single status), and I am due to fly out to Doha on the 28th February. I have accepted the offer but not yet been issued with a contract of employment. Yesterday I recieved my work visa - one visit.

Also yesterday I was offered a better job with a different company, this being a permanent position for both myself and my family.

As I have not yet signed a contract of employment for my original role or booked the flights or left the UK, is it possible to change the sponsoring company without the original company issuing a no-objection certificate (NOC), as they say they are unable to issue this.

If I don't take up the job with the original employer how long would I need to wait before being able to re-apply for a work visa with another company?

This would be the first time I have worked in the middle east.

Your advice on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

you have 3 options

1- come to doha then exit from here, so the new sponsor can issue a new working visa for you

2- come to doha request an NOC letter from your sponsor to change sponsorship to the other company

3- inform your sponsor that your not coming and to cancel the visa, after that you can get a visa

i recommend option 1, since your sponsor wont have the choice to release you or not

I somehow doubt you would get a reply. Actually the company that issued the visa for you CAN cancel it. I suggest you ask the public relations officer of the second company for advice.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately the visa is valid for 6 months so I'm not sure the 2nd company will wait that long.

Is it worth me contacting the MoI foe advice? their visa infomaticon FAQs seem to indicate that changing sponsor before a RP is granted is straightforward, but I can't find anything about my particular situation.

Ichwill is correct.. if you are willing to accept the second offer, just wait for the expiration of your first visa; ie: three months from the date of issue... it is clearly mentioned on the visa... stating "Enter Before...... " So after that date the visa automatically gets canceled. You will not get a second visa unless the first one is canceled or expired.

So just wait.

As long as you have not yet entered Qatar, you can wait for the first work visa to expire and then the second company can make a visa for you. However, they cannot apply for a visa for you before the first visa is expired unless the first company agrees to provide a no objection.

You're OK to change. Work visas don't involve NOCs.

my brother has a problem with his sponsor and he is not allowing him to get transfer....if cancell the visa then 2 year u cant get any job untill u have NOC or finished 2 years as currunt rule.........it might change till 6 months.......but speculations....nothing confirmmm...so just think n decide then grab the oppurtunity.......

From what i understand you have still not come to Qatar and you have been issued a work visa for one visit. As far as i know, NOC thing comes into picture only after you get an RP under a company sponsorship.

A Short and Sweet answer is Yes.

Would suggest you to wait for others comments.
