Is this really racism ?
Is it racism or do they just want to get rid of him..??
Bob Houghton, the British manager of India's national football team, could be sacked over allegations that he made racist remarks to one of the country's top referees.
Mr Houghton, is accused of complaining about "bastard Indian referees" during an argument in October last year.
Kushal Das, the AIFF's general secretary, told the Daily Telegraph the comments allegedly made by Mr Houghton were "purely a case of racial abuse" and that they could lead to a charge of "bringing the Federation into disrepute."
Mr Das said Federation executives were also angry at Mr Houghton's criticisms of Indian football facilities. He had said the national team is forced to train outside the country, India has only one proper stadium which is not used for football, and that it's players are expected to play on surfaces "no self-respecting top player would play on."
There has been resentment over his salary package – considered excessive in India, while low by English Premier League standards – and anger over public criticisms he made last month over the poor state of training facilities in India.
It is understood Mr Houghton, who was unavailable to answer questions, has not yet been given an opportunity to respond to the allegations
Well, nothing new or out of the ordinary then.
So, it seems that the Footballing authorities are using it as an excuse to get rid of him and perhaps avoid paying compensation.
man...these guyz will never make a good football team this way..whatever the coach was complaining about is true..no facilities, no nothing....they dont care about football there...they care about cricket and hockey, thats it!!
its high time they realize this and start making it better.
racist.
Eh, if the money is right he should keep quiet. Same in other places. People don't want to change, they just want to be made to look good. Take the money and get on with it.
well...he is not the last man standing to bring good to Indian football...and us getting all emotional isn't going to make AIFF change their decision to kick him out.. but yes, discussing it here can sure generate some fireworks ... guess I am too bored with the incessant dose of such topics and discussions leading nowhere...anyways carryon an don't forget to post the affect of the discussion on the decision making, if any...
He was stating a fact. They were Indian but I wonder how he knew their doubtful parentage?
well it should if you care bout Indian football
They just want to get rid of him.
Either way should it bother us...
this is why Indian football will never get better..asshole football federation..they just want to get rid of him..for stating obvious truths about the football infrastructure and its running in India..
He should save himself all the trouble n leave to where his work is appreciated.
