Anyone facing the same problem

By million dollar

This is in response to the serious problem I am facing infront of FFC/Indian SuperMarket or in that airport road where I go for shopping with my family several times.Few guys individually roam around there, speak very good urdu start asking for money citing that they are in severe financial problems, have no work here and need money to go back to their country.Twice I helped them by paying 200 QAR each.

Now,again yesterday another cheat came up to me and I noticed they are deliberately moving there and fooling families around, whom they find easy to convince and seems they are in a group practicing this as a source of income.I am only a year old in this country and I got fooled. So guys if anyone of u who comes across anything like dis, dont get cheated.
Its really annoying and yesterday I was fed up of them.Should I report about these kind of guys to the police if I catch them again?

if we meet this scenario we should report it to the police so that they will receive a special treatment in the police station..

you should report to the police, we never know who will be the next victim.. and they will continue unless they will recieve disciplinary actions..

me and my husband had been a victim of this begging scenario. On that instance, it was hard to refuse to dole out money because the guy had a very good "acting". Now, that I've read all these, it would be a different story if I encounter the same.

I am not sure about that QLer you mentioned but there are quite a lot of Rizks associated with the Qler I am referring to. Rumour has it that he was not one but a gang of two guys who robbed the poor Qlers out of their pockets. Both of the gang members work at the same place!

By anonymous• 15 Mar 2011 10:32

NO I was refering to a jackal faced Qler wink..:)

I've seen ppl like this in Saudi arabia, and some may be driving cars telling that he came driving from another gulf country or city and asking you for money to get fuel so he can go back home!!

I've never fallen for any of this because it just don't make sense

there are persons who come to our office and only want to speak/meet the mudhir.

These ppl are beggars and they refuse to speak to us lowly staff, only to the mudhir.

I tell to wait I will call my sponser as he is the biggest mudhir in our company and he wants to talk to them.

That makes them run away.

Same incident happent to me also...a young man indroduced himself as a jobless pakistani, who came here for job but he didnt find anything bcoz of his visa problems. His whole families including 5 sisters are waiting for his income to get married, father is ill...etc etc.

and that guy approached us with perfumes...for his daily wages he is selling perfumes.that was the easy way to show that he is a good willl person, who is hard working..but the faith gave him wrong placement

It should be reported..such peoples shouldnot be entertained.

Tell him to wait, stay close, take your mobile, call a friend and start asking him if you can pay money to that fellow loudly.

I am sure he will run away from you.

You should report it to the police. They are well organized ppl I must say. I have seen the same shaddy activities in UAE, Bahrain & Oman !!

I too have helped and found out later that it was a money making business. They are fantastic actors....pity they are wasting their talents in such in appropriate manner.

Take also a picture of this culprit if possible, just incase you might need it as a backup proof !!

yep...saw them...refused to pay as I've previously fallen to the I'm-Saudi-need-money-for-gas-to-go-home scam a couple of year back.

very unusual to see street beggars in Doha.. please don't pay them as you're encouraging the behavior; People who need support can get it from official charities if they are eligible , and if you feel you need to give and support, you can also do it via the charities who will have their proper channels and have lists of people who need support.

Its been a year I have been here, and it was first time I encountered this. Here everyone works, earns money and lives his livelihood so I was literally shocked. They are simply spoiling their country's name and reputation by doing this kind of cheap activity.
